  1. Boston has 2 teams with a great shot at winning a championship this year, but, unfortunately, the SOX aren't one of them. My prediction is the SOX offense will hold their own, but the starting pitching will be the major weakness. Not because of lack of talent, but because of a good chance that they will all during the season be on the IL, except, of course, Pivetta. And the defense could also add to the frustration. I predict the SOX will again finish 5th in the AL East. However, on the bright side, many so-called 'experts' back in September predicted that the BRUINS wouldn't make the playoffs, so there's that.
  2. Are you actually saying that Dugo and Duran are of equal value? What are you smoking?
  3. On the bright side is that the 160 mil Bogey turned down can now be used for other needs. And the SOX still have a few of those.
  4. Dugo, imho, did a good job in Fenway's RF last season. His career numbers with the SOX are .288BA and .768OPS. I believe these good numbers will improve with the shift no longer in play.
  5. True, but delusional is better than ridiculous.
  6. SOX should offer him 150 mill for 5 years, but he's also probably looking for at least 10 years.
  7. I believe the 160 mil for 6 years was more than reasonable. 280 mil for 11 years is ridiculous. No way was Bogey going to leave 120 mil on the table. The market right now is out of control and as long as owners are willing to pay for these long, long range contracts it will only get worse. Offer Devers 300 mill for 10 years. If he turns it down, then trade him.
  8. The Phils have had the best hitter(Harper) and the best pitcher(Wheeler) in these PO's. So far.
  9. Bryce "Deliverance" Harper delivers. Ortiz-like.
  10. Speaking of Donaldson it appears he has one more year left on his contract with the Yankems for 25 million. If I was a Yankem fan I'd be yelling OUCH!
  11. Well, in the 3 games the Mariners played against the Astros in the PO's they were tougher to beat than than the Yankems in these 3 games. By the Yankems paying Donaldson 20 million for one year, the SOX are going to have to pay Devers 40 million/yr.
  12. Can the Yankems win 4 straight in this ALCS? It has been done before, but that was against the Yankems.
  13. Even if he does get a 10 year deal and he starts faltering after 6 years, the Yankems' FO can still put him out to stud and perhaps create a few more Judges.
  14. Seeing as that I intensely dislike the Yankems and seeing as that I intensely dislike the state of Texas, I'm hoping a NL team wins the WS.
  15. Right now the SOX total payroll stands at about 100 million, which is 15th in MLB.
  16. Walking dumb azz Donaldson should get any pitcher removed from the game. Btw, I'm not a Donaldson fan; he's one of the biggest jerks in MLB.
  17. If the SOX can re-sign Bogey, they will have an above average offense. If the SOX can obtain a good defensive RF, they will have a very good defense. With that in mind all available money and prospects should be used to acquire two good starters and 3 good BP arms. This all seems very doable.
  18. Congrats to 'Cona for taking the Guardians to five games against the Yankems with the weakest offense in the PO's.
  19. Having Donaldson batting 5th makes Boone look like the crap manager he actually is. Note to Astros: stop throwing hanging pitches to Bader; he's a master at hitting them.
  20. The 2018 SOX won a total of 119 games. The 2022 Dodgers won a total of 112 games. Hopefully, the 2022 Yankems will win a total of 100 games.
  21. I soitenly hope so.
  22. Goodbye Dodgers and take your 111 wins with you. They mean absolutely nothing at this point. Goodbye Mookie, but don't feel bad. Some on this board still think you're some kind of god.
  23. Cleveland is in the PO's for 3 reasons. 1)pitching, 2)defense, and 3)playing in a very weak division. Their offense is blatantly weak.
  24. Here comes the Judge. 8 AB's and 7 K's. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying that.
  25. I'm pretty sure Bernie wasn't invited to Zimmer's funeral.
