It was good to see Martin back on the mound. Mr Reliable.
  2. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Another lead off double that that never turns into a run. The SOX have mastered that.
  3. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
True, but what we need is pitching and it's too late to fix that.
  4. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Nice attempt to come all the way back by the SOX. Unfortunately, scoring 4 runs will lead to many more losses than wins.
  5. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    That was impressive against Hader.
  6. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If offense was 90% of the game, the SOX would be in 1st place.
  7. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If I had to pick my most memorable SOX offensive moment this season, it would be Masa's 2-run homer with 2 outs against the Yankems in the 9th to tie the game.
  8. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If the SOX finish this season over .500, it will be a major achievement. Hats off to most of the players who've overachieved at this point of the season. And be encouraged by the SOX top prospects, who will be brought up to the 'big show' sometime in the future.

Resting the BP for the PO's.
  10. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Dever was hitting over .300 before this game. Based on his history, I doubt that's sustainable.
  11. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Not surprised. Many of the outs by Keller were also hit hard.
  12. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
One more thing about a long baseball season; it separates the real contenders from the eventual pretenders.
  13. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    Alvarez 2, Jansen 1.
  14. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
There goes the no hitter and the shutout on one pitch.
  15. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    D. Smith has been playing a very good 1st base defensively.
  16. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Interestingly enough, the SOX were no-hit by a pitcher named Righetti.
  17. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Based on his high ERA and high WHIP, he must throw a lot of meatballs.
  18. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
The strongest part of any baseball team can go into a slump. The SOX offense is no exception.
  19. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Nothing wrong with SOX pitchers that 2 out half innings wouldn't fix.
  20. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Losing the 1st game of a 3 game series has led to the SOX winning the next 2. They've done that more than a few times this season. Let's hope it happens again.

I loved how the 50's movie makers were more concerned about nuclear blasts creating giant insects than the concern of mass destruction. But we got Godzilla from the panic, so it wasn't all bad.
  22. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
My bad. After checking I found the movie was about giant locusts. The giant mantis was in the film Deadly Mantis.
  23. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If I'm not mistaken, the movie Beginning Of The End was about giant mantises. And none of the mantis was named Mickey.
  24. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Shite, now you can't even trust a Booser.

To make Cora's job easier and relieve him of all analytics, when it comes to the SOX BP, just put their names in a hat and draw one.
