  1. For the last few years I've stopped watching the ASG. This year I'll watch it even less.
  2. A's going with BP game after earlier posting Medina would start.
  3. Playing back-to-back series against the best and worst offenses in MLB is probably rare.
  4. I watched a youtube video earlier regarding the career of Dwight Evans. I believe most here know that he led MLB in HR's during the decade of the 80's. What I didn't know was he also led MLB in extra base hits during that same period. 385 HR's and 2500 hits along with 8 Gold Gloves. Seems like HOF numbers to me, but then I didn't get to vote.
  5. In the last few games I've noticed Duvall has been making better contact. I expect he will start putting up some good numbers as the season wears on.
  6. In comparing Arroyo's offense to Kike's I found this: Arroyo's OPS=.657 Kike's OPS=.616 Arroyo's OPS+=75 Kike's OPS+=65 Both OPS+ are way below the league average of 100. Defensively I would give Arroyo the nod over Kike at 2nd base. However, Kike is making 10 Mil and Arroyo is not.
  7. I'll have you know I do not sit in an armchair during SOX games. I'm no 'armchair quarterback.' When I'm not sitting on a stool to post my super intelligent observations, I'm laying on the couch. I guess that would make me a 'couch quarterback', who generally go higher in the draft than the armchair ones.
  8. Duran(LF) Turner(DH) Devers Duvall Dugo Kike Casas Wong Chang
  9. Medina(RH) vs Bernardino Obviously a BP game for the SOX. Let's hope the offensive momentum from last night will carry over to today's game. I'm guessing Alfaro will catch tonight. Go SOX!
  10. The SOX have to sweep the horrible A's, but with only one of the 3 games having a starter and the other two being BP affairs it won't be as easy as it normally would. I'm guessing the SOX are the only team in MLB who presently only have 3 starters. Although it is quite possible Pivetta will transition to a starter in one of those 2 games.
  11. I've always said if one isn't sure who to blame, just blame Max.
  12. There's a truck full of bad teams in MLB this season; the SOX aren't one of them.
  13. I've been very careful about that. It shows lack of care.
  14. You're exactly right, Max. Time to renegotiate my contract again. I'll have to contact my agent Bore Ass and see what he can do.
  15. I promised myself not to get my hopes up again. The SOX are playing with my emotions. Get my hopes up once, shame on you. Get my hopes up twice, shame on me.
  16. Wink pretty much changed the momentum of the game.
  17. "Who's on First?" Vegas, I'm less impressed now. Pete was the songwriter for the WHO.
  18. I think the best example of what Manny said was Carl Crawford. Thrived in low pressure Tampa; failed in high pressure Boston.
  19. Ort had his hair cut and is in the process of changing his last name.
  20. Quoting Pete Townshend; I'm impressed.
  21. Earlier this season Manny was on a SOX pregame and he stated playing in NY and Boston is a lot different pressure wise than playing anywhere else. Casas may be that player who would thrive in a less intense environment. Hopefully, he can succeed in Boston. But, damn, Casas, loosen up!
  22. Dugo should work with Casas regarding how to be more relaxed at the plate.
  23. I saw the field lights acting crazy and my first thought was Roy Hobbs.
