  1. The opposing pitchers are doing Raffy a favor when they don't throw him fastballs waist high or above.
  2. No question; at this point LH pitchers are the SOX Achille's Heel. It's quite ironic that the SOX themselves don't have a LH starter.
  3. Here's a surprising stat I just found. O'Neill has a higher OPS+(130) than Duran(125). Not only is it surprising, it's utterly ridiculous.
  4. I just checked and you are correct. While checking about the rubber, I found that if a ball does hit the rubber on the mound w/o being touched by a player and it goes foul, it is considered a foul ball.
  5. I think if the ball hits the rubber on the mound and is caught, it's an out. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that.
  6. One big disadvantage; this is the 1st game of a 3 game series.
  7. Another opportunity lost. That may work against bad teams, but, usually, it leads to a bad ending against the good teams.
  8. Pitch count in a much better place after 2.
  9. If the SOX weren't so strapped on RH bats, he would be an obvious trading tool.
  10. Good inning except for high pitch count.
  11. 16 HR's and 31 RBI are, for lack of a better word, ridiculous.
  12. Getting the Dodgers' feed and Nomar is doing the color. Don't watch many Dodgers' games, so I was unaware Nomar worked the booth.
  13. Duran Hamilton O'Neill Devers Masa Abreu Smith Rafaela McGuire SOX have 2 advantages in this game, 1)playing on the road and 2)facing a RH. Hopefully, the 4 days off didn't screw up their momentum.
  14. Another starter who may be on the SOX radar is the Angels' lefty Tyler Anderson. He's 33 years old but has an 8-8 record with an ERA of 2.97 and a 1.17 WHIP. The problem is that half of MLB teams are looking for a starter, so the sellers will be overvaluing their tradable pitching. I'm guessing that the SOX would have to include in the trade one of their top 3 prospects. Erick Fedde of the White Sox is also obtainable, but he would probably require even more prospects because his bargain contract runs thru 2025.
  15. Will Simon & Garfunkel ever get back together?
  16. Pivetta vs Stone(RH) The symbolic 2nd half of the season starts tonight for the SOX. Based on win %, the SOX have the toughest remaining schedule in MLB. Starting the 2nd half of the season on the worst coast(baseball speak regarding the SOX) does add to the challenge. Congrats to Duran for being the All-star MVP. Go SOX!
  17. Hey, MAX. The A's just beat the Phils 18-3 at Philadelphia.
  18. Don't look now Yankems and O's, but there's a team sneaking up on you. Very quietly.
