  2. Not in BA but depending of the site you can find 2 or 3, let's wait for the midseason lists
  3. Scherzer is owed $90.73MM (not counting AAV, which is $28.689MM). Verlander was owed about $60.75MM (guaranteed) at the time of the trade, plus Detroit sent $8MM to Astros, so the financial hit was about $52.75MM (Source: Cot's Baseball Contarcts) Based on this, Scherzer won't be worth two top 100 prospects, unless some serious cash is involved. I see your point regarding WAR difference, but Verlander had two rough years and at the time of the trade he was back at the top of his game.
  4. That would be a HUGE package for Scherzer (yankee fan glasses alert), not sure the Yankees would do that. Scherzer is 34 yrs old (almost 35), if you compare him to Sale, who was 27 at the time of the trade with a very team friendly contract at the time, he's not worth that package. Would you do that?
  5. I'm surprised you prefer Devers over Benintendi, from the outside, I believe it should be the other way around
  6. Exactly, Scherzer is a HOF for sure, but he's not worth Torres (or Devers) straight up in a trade. There should be a prospects "price" for him, we just don't know it yet
  7. Would you deal Devers (I don't know who else you can offer to substitute Florial and Garcia) for Scherzer?
  8. it would be nice to know how many were on a 30HR pace at this time last year. A lot of players fade in the 2nd part of the season
  9. In my opinion, the next players won't be back with the team: Tulo will retire Kendry will be DFA Ellsbury will be released next year
  10. Now that Stanton is coming back, let's revisit who's still there Miguel Andújar, 3B Expected return: 2020 Season-ending surgery on May 20 to repair a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder. Jake Barrett, RHP Expected return: TBD Right flexor strain and is currently rehabbing. (Updated: June 1) Dellin Betances, RHP Expected return: July Right shoulder impingement and low-grade strain of his lat muscle (Updated: June 13) Greg Bird, 1B Expected return: TBD Tore the plantar fascia in his left foot (Updated: June 5) Jacoby Ellsbury, OF Expected return: TBD Arthroscopic surgery to repair his left hip labrum (Updated: June 2) Domingo Germán, RHP Expected return: TBD Left hip flexor strain (Updated: June 10) Ben Heller, RHP Expected return: June Tommy John surgery (Updated: May 22) Aaron Judge, RF Expected return: Late June Significant strain of his left oblique (Updated: June 14) Jonathan Loaisiga, RHP Expected return: July Right rotator cuff strain (Updated: June 5) Jordan Montgomery, LHP Expected return: July Tommy John surgery (Updated: April 27) Kendrys Morales, DH Expected return: June Left calf strain. (Updated: June 13) Luis Severino, RHP Expected return: Second half Right rotator cuff inflammation and Grade 2 strain of his right latissimus muscle. (Updated: June 10) Troy Tulowitzki, SS Expected return: TBD Left calf strain (Updated: June 10)
  11. Here is a different article Seattle is sending the Yankees $8,397,849, leaving New York to pay $8 million of remaining $16,397,849 Encarnación is guaranteed. New York is sending 19-year-old minor league pitcher Juan Then to Seattle. The 36-year-old Encarnación has hit 21 home runs this season and has averaged 37 homers and 109 RBIs in his last seven years. He is owed $11,397,849 of his $20 million salary this year plus a $5 million buyout of a $25 million club option for 2020. https://news.yahoo.com/ap-source-yanks-near-deal-013927527.html Per this article, The Rays will pay $5MM, the Yanks $8MM and the Mariners $3.397MM, this makes more sense.
  12. According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal (Twitter link), the two teams are “essentially splitting the money” owed to Encarnacion for the remainder of his contract. The slugger has roughly $9.25MM left on the $20MM owed to him this season, after accounting for the $5MM being covered by the Rays as per the terms of the three-team trade that brought Encarnacion to Seattle from Cleveland back in December. Encarnacion also has a $5MM buyout of a $20MM club option for the 2020 season. According to the article EE is owed $14.25MM this year, the rays are paying $5MM which makes the Mariners responsibility of about $9.25MM.
  13. EE is owed 9.25M this year + 5M (buyout for 2020) = 14M. The deal was to split, in equal parts, the remainder of the contract. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/06/yankees-acquire-edwin-encarnacion.html We'll know for sure when the official info comes to light
  14. The Yanks will pay him around 7 millions for the rest of the season, remove the 5 millions the rays are currently paying and he is in their pay range
  15. https://www.12up.com/posts/rays-literally-paying-edwin-encarnacion-to-play-for-yankees-in-tight-al-east-race-is-embarrassing-01ddkmkc03jz This sucks for the rays, they are actually paying part of EE salary (5millions) this season to play for the yankees
  16. Agreed Their window will be closing in 2 or 3 years, they need to make the most out of the current roster, most of their players will become very expensive soon, The only "core" players they have control for more that 3 years are Altuve and Bregman
  17. https://www.12up.com/posts/rays-and-astros-reportedly-offered-more-talent-to-mariners-than-yankees-for-edwin-encarnacion-01ddhkhqp0rw A possible explanation of why the Yankees got EE, it looks like the Astros and Rays wanted more cash involved in the transaction
  18. The final price tag was fair, Cashman dropped the ball on this.
  19. This sucks, Keuchel was a big miss from Cashman
  20. They will try to sign him, it's a very solid prospect but has a hard commit to Vanderbilt.
  21. Let's see what type of contract he gets, I'm not sure how much money the Yankees have left in their salary cap, they've been working very hard to reset the luxury tax penalties and I don't see Cashman blowing that effort for anybody
  22. Volpe has a commitment with Vanderbilt, those guys are very hard to sign, I'm assuming the Yanks did the due diligence before picking the guy or are expecting to sign a guy with big upside on the later rounds with this money
  23. We are set in 1B between DJ and Voit, Didi will be back soon and the IF should look be set. 1B DJ/Voit 2B Gleyber/DJ SS Didi/Gleyber 3B Urshella/DJ
  24. The difference is that Stewart doesn't have attachment to any organization in the US, he's a free agent
