  1. Never said he was untouchable no one is, but he's still highly regarded around the league. No you like reading and asking questions on Fangraphs chat. Sawchick had a good comment about him today.
  2. I think Kelly and Ross are pretty much definite. Erod probably gets sent down if Pom and Wright are healthy. Which leaves Abad and Workman, my guess is they will want Workman to pitch in Pawtucket for a little while. Have not heard much about Rutledge this spring, and Farrell said today that Hernandez has caught his eye this spring. Thought Rutledge was a shoo in not so sure anymore.
  3. Very good research
  4. Also a very good article I. The Sunday Herald by Jason Masrodonato about Swihart.
  5. Yes some swings are better then others
  6. And some of these players struggled to begin with, especially Zunino and Salty. Schwarber should not be included in this list he will never be a catcher. Varitek did not become a full time catcher until 27. The sox plan in 15 was for Swihart to have a full year in triple a,since he had only 3 years of catching experience, that didn't happen because of Vazquez TJ surgery. Peter Gammons had an article this winter about the number of teams that wanted to trade for him, Redsox would not trade him. He is still in demand, front offices can see his potential.
  7. Nice way to lighten it up.
  8. No one is saying he will be top ten in baseball, you are being ridiculous. We are saying he has the potential, just like every scouting service in baseball has said he has .
  9. No one who knows baseball thought he was a sure thing many holes in his swing.
  10. You are reaching.
  11. Actually your response is stupid have you seen his swing there is a thing called scouting and knowing when a player is going to be a good hitter. Have you actually watched him play not so sure.
  12. His second half ops was much higher in 15 once he got comfortable I believe over 800.
  13. Harmony I'm sure has never actually seen him play, he's basing everything off projections which are wrong quite a bit. You just see his swing and you know he's eventually going to be a good hitter. You are totally right he was rushed to the majors in 15, and actually had a very good second half with the bat.
  14. The money these guys get paid and their teams liability if they get injured, don't blame the team at all for not wanting them to play.
  15. I have mixed feelings on this, understand if he becomes a decent defensive catcher(which I think he will)that bat will be a big asset. Also realize he could be valuable as a fall back option for Pablo.
  16. Surprised, but good to hear.
  17. I know was talking about bunting for hits to beat the shift. Do not like the sac. Bunt in most situations do not like giving up outs.
  18. If they use it correctly it could really help defeat the shift, but yes they need to be smart about it.
  19. I agree with you on the starting rotation setup porcello being the reigning Cy Young winner deserves the nod and Sale being the newcomer should be after Price, which might relieve some of the pressure on him. I hate the sacrifice bunt in most situations, but I do like the idea of it being used to beat the shifts if it lessons the shifts put on. Especially for JBJ.
  20. I understand the whole depth issue, but I will be shocked if Barnes is sent down they think to highly of him. I also believe they see him as the reliever who can go multiple innings.
  21. Barnes is a key cog in the sox bullpen he is not being optioned, I agree with Erod he might get optioned because of starting depth but bullpen depth is not a problem.
  22. Teams will know that we have to put him on waivers it would be very hard to trade him. Definitely will get nothing of value for him.
  23. No one would probably trade for him, they would know the Redsox would probably just take him off the 40, so they would just pay minimum salary for him. Do not think the sox would be to concerned about his 2 million it's all about not going over the luxury tax.
  24. Pom is not going to triple a 3 options with him starter, reliever or DL. Barnes unless he totally bombs in spring trading also is not going down, they think of him as a main cog in the bullpen.
  25. Castillo is baseball stupid
