  1. You are up and down like a yo-yo. One day you are giving up. Two days later you are back on board. I have never given up hope . Jump in the lifeboat or go down with the ship. Make up your mind.
  2. Well, the guy is telling me to stay off threads. Dropping f bombs . He seems to be very upset lately. Why? I am not trying to fool anyone. I think that Bloom is not doing a very good job . A lot of Sox fans feel that way. For some reason , that offends some people.
  3. You are his partner. Maybe you should talk to him about that temper.
  4. Is that a direct order?
  5. I'm not sure how it works this year. I thought that the worse your record, the better your odds of getting a higher pick. I could be wrong about that.
  6. I have no idea what you mean by that. But your biases are very evident.
  7. The playoffs are a near crapshoot. Martinez was brought in to replace the retired David Ortiz. And Mookie Betts is one of the best all-around players you are ever going to see.
  8. Why in the world would you trade Casas? I have got to get out of here. This place is getting too crazy.
  9. It looks to me that the Rangers have given up on the season and are playing for a better draft pick. Not so much the players, but management.
  10. I just call them like I see them.
  11. The Irish need to recruit big time quarterbacks. Lately they have been going with what in baseball are known as scrappy, dirt dog types. You are not going to beat the top teams with that. They will play to stop your running game and get your offense off the field. Then your defense will run out of gas in the second half. By the way, it is stupid to open your season on the road against a team that is better than you are. Better to start off at home vs a cupcake.
  12. I think that beating up on a team, even a team that is obviously tanking, can be reinvigorating and can lead to some momentum going forward. We will find out soon enough.
  13. The Rangers would have been better off just sightseeing around Boston all weekend and forfeiting the games.
  14. It's just reality as opposed to opinion. Someone who evaluates farm systems feels that the Red Sox system is improving. Fine. It will be a reality if or when we see the results on the Sox.
  15. Your clever exaggerations are always appreciated.
  16. You like Bloom . That's okay. You like some guys and you dislike others. And that effects your judgement. I try to be more objective.
  17. The team got worse. Bloom is the guy in charge. People will draw their own conclusions.
  18. Koji was unique . And he was a good to very good pitcher besides his great run in 2013. However , he had just 95 saves in his career . His high for a year was 26. So , he does not rate among the great closers .
  19. I believe they said he was more than a draft steal. But you can believe whatever you want . Your exaggerations are always amusing.
  20. We have to also consider the possibility that Whitlock is not quite as good as we thought.
  21. Not true.
  22. One thing I disagree with is the idea that relief pitchers are a hit or miss proposition. That has been said so much that folks are starting to believe it. They are no more hit or miss than the starters , right fielders , third basemen ,etc. The good one are pretty reliable. The mediocre ones can be erratic. But everyone misses sometimes.
  23. The role is changing. Kimbrel, Jansen and Chapman have been the top closers in the game since Mariano hung them up. Now, they are all nearing the end of the road. But there is a whole new crop of flame throwers emerging . Diaz is probably the best , but we are now seeing set-up men who hit trip!e digits as well. The Sox are missing the boat.
  24. You can call them closers, relief aces , leverage guys , long men , set-up men or whatever you please. But you have got to have relievers who can shut down an offense , at least for one inning. That is imperative in today's game , and the Sox don't have it. Our bullpen is one of the worst. If the plan for next year is to pretty much bring back the same crew , don't expect things to improve.
