  1. Give him some credit for getting the six outs. Osuna gave up five runs in one inning. Kimbrel has pitched very poorly, but he hasn't walked off the mound a loser yet. And that's the bottom line.
  2. That is a mark of a championship team. They pick each other up.
  3. The Astros are reeling on the ropes. Time to deliver the knockout punch. No doubt the Price haters will have the long knives out and sharpened. Here's hoping he can shut them up. Go Sox.
  4. Politics needs to be kept out of a baseball forum. That is an excellent policy. But it needs to be strictly enforced. Unfortunately, that is not always done. There are always those who can't resist injecting their politics. No need for it . There is no shortage of political forums for those who like to engage in that endless , repetitive, redundant and boring left vs right debate. No need for it here.
  5. Of course I do. We won that one too.
  6. Of course I have been watching. This is big time post season baseball . Intense pressure and competition. Very exciting. No need to be paranoid. We have a great team. We are 6-2 . What were your expectations ?
  7. Sox took three out of four in eliminating a very good Yankee team. Now they have taken three out of four ( admittedly with some tense moments) from the reigning, defending World Champion Astros. On the verge of dethroning and eliminating an excellent club and moving on to the Fall Classic. Undefeated on the road. Yet , much of Red Sox Nation is nervous , worried , angry and upset. Playoff paranoia running wild.
  8. All Boston from here on. The series may not get back to Fenway. Wonder if Hinch still has any faith in that gutless stiff Osuna. As I have said repeatedly, the Red Sox are the better team. No doubt about it.
  9. We are now getting into Houston's lesser pitchers. Keuchel can be had. So can Morton. The Astros are ready to be taken. The question is; who will take the hill for Boston ? Dr. Eovaldi or Mr. Hyde ? If it's Dr. Eovaldi, the Sox may romp.
  10. That might be our best chance. I thought N.D. could do it in 2012 , but it was a rude awakening.
  11. Manny is a heckuva good player , but maybe not the brightest guy in the room. Trying to drive down the price in his free agency ? Bet his agent is thrilled.
  12. Even if this was a lousy team , many of the comments would be over the top and uncalled for. But for a team this good , this successful , it is really bizarre . I think alcohol may be at least partly responsible for the madness.
  13. Right Larry. You always want a team to have that killer " instance ."
  14. Maxie , This forum has no shortage of people who don't understand baseball.
  15. Eovaldi in Game 3 , Porcello in Game 4. I would have preferred the reverse , but it's not a big deal. Sale in Game 5. Price in Game 6 ( if necessary) with a short leash. I doubt very much the series will go seven , but if it does , either Porcello or Eovaldi starts , with all hands on deck. I feel more confident than ever that the Sox win this.
  16. Agree completely. He needs to pitch more often to stay sharp. The stuff is there , but the control and command are way off.
  17. Maybe just getting his flu shot.
  18. Thanks. I guess if it saves the dog a beating , it can be tolerated. Baseball is a difficult game to play well , even for the best of them. None of these guys " suck " . The manager is not a freakin idiot. This may or may not be the best Sox team ever , but it is a pretty good one to say the least.
  19. Yeah. They still focus on all the negatives. Won't even enjoy the win. I guess they think the game is easy. Or they just like to complain. Maybe both.
  20. I just want to make one point. I have been around a long time. I have lived through all of the disappointments and , finally, the triumphs. This year's Sox team is the deepest, most versatile and overall best that I have seen. A team that every fan could get behind. Alas , so many Sox fans have become what we always have hated. Spoiled , entitled, front running , scapegoating, whining crybabies. " The umps are against us , the announcers are against us , this guy sucks , that guy sucks , the manager sucks , get this ******* out of here , etc. ". Then , magically, all is forgiven when things go right. Sickening. A read through one of the game threads is puke inducing. Where did all of these pseudo fans come from ? And please don't tell me ," we all root in our own way ." Sorry . I like to have some fun on here , but I just had to make this statement.
  21. Just a guess Jason , but I think he wants to win at least as much as you. After all , it is his occupation and he has more at stake. Do you want him to go to the bullpen in the fourth, the bullpen that has been so derided?
  22. The Irish offense did not have one of their better days. The defense came to the rescue and they were able to eke out the win on a day of upsets. They should move up to number four. If they run the table, they will be in the playoffs. However , I'm afraid that college football now consists of Alabama and then everyone else.
