Why do they keep PITCHING to him with nobody on base. Make him hit a bad pitch if not he gets first. It's common sense. Or have the catcher or Willis go out there and warn him.

Buchholz loosening up in the pen.

Since the Angel game on the WC trip he's been pitching real good. Don't want to jinx him though.

Also keep in mind he wasn't the the centerpiece of that Phillies Cole Hammels on and off rumored deal but they wanted him in that deal.They weren't getting MB or XB to go along with it. That was the deal breaker. Hammels would have came here without the 20m option being picked up. But are first base coach was asking for a lot ,don't blame him. But NO way!

It seems to me that Swihart may be squeezed out. He's prime trade bait I understand ,if they trust Leon to do what he is doing. I might be the only one who wants to give him one more chance.

I remember the days I heard, if JBJ can hit 240/250 and play great D I'll take it. Now playing GGD and hitting maybe 270 isn't enough....Expectations...

John Farrell announced a short while ago that Buchholz and Ziegler will share the 8 th inning set-up role. They each will pitch depending on in game matchups..So Clay Buchholz can put that on his Bio that he is a setup man as well. If they don't pick up his option. -

I see Joe Kelly and Koji added by the time they are in Oakland. I have this feeling nothing to base it on Koji comes back and pitches respectfully. Joe Kelly is a Hail Mary at this point.

I think IMO Buchholz will split the time with Ziegler for the eighth inning. If he pitches good the Red Sox will be teased BIGTIME to pick up that option. I would pick it up and trade him, but it doesn't have to be in the winter, maybe sometime in spring training unless you get a prospect you like. If Buchholz pitches good in the last month they pick it up. If not see you later. -
