  1. My last question of the night. If ERod's has his no no going into the 9 th. Who comes out, Erod or Kimbrel.
  2. i understand. I get the drill. Trust me. But the stats say Kimbrel coming in on tie games say something different. That is not the reason they lost. I agree with you there.
  3. Then why was Ziegler and Ross warming up in the 8 th. One batter away from coming in. The bottom line Kimbrel doesn't for whatever reason pitch good in tie games.
  4. Warmed up Ziegler and Ross. Kimbrel comes in on a tied game on the road. That's not what he does best. Very odd. This loss is on the O. I wish I could make sense of it , but I can't.
  5. Lineup.... Pedroia 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Leon C Holt LF Moncada 3B Bradley CF
  6. It may have been Bradley and three or four other prospects involved.
  7. If he keeps pitching the way he is the option gets picked up. If not it doesn't. They can still pick it up and trade him. Something tells me he will get his money one way or another. All teams are desperate for pitching . He can get a 2 year deal at about 24M, just being a tease. I say 60/40 they pick it up. Then what they do after is anybody's guess.
  8. Being dropped down in the lineup has been good for him. It's a good piece of mind. He can relax a little bit and not press. Without any injuries he should bat down there and continue to rake. Just being steady and consistent is the key. If he struggles with the bat , his glove is always there.
  9. What has surprised me and it's only been two games is Moncada's arm. He has a cannon when he sets. I remember Beltre in that one year here , that had an arm like that. He slings it across like its nothing.
  10. 9 up 9 down for Porcello.
  11. That was a good opposite serve by Moncada. Need to keep pouring it on.
  12. Hanley's on fire. That ball was crushed.
  13. Hopefully, that will continue.
  14. Just some more info..... Steven Wright scratched from his next start will seek a second opinion. Good chance he goes back on DL. Clay Buchholz will take Wright's spot and pitch Tuesday against SD. Brad Ziegler is available out of the bullpen for tonight. Koji Uehara threw BP came out fine.. Could be activated for Monday's game @ SD. Three more players could be brought up next week..all signs point to Brentz, Vasquez , Hembree.. Boston Dirtdogs and WEEI.COM
  15. Lineup...... Pedrioa 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Leon C Young LF Moncada 3B Bradley CF
  16. The Cubs offered Chapman 4/48m when they made the deal with NYY, he wanted to test F/A. The Yankees will be involved with Chapman. Do you want to pay a closer up to 13 m a year when you have Kimbrel. Do you pay big money on Encarnacion when you are still tied with dead money with Panda, Castillo, and Craig. I hear what your saying. These will be all tough calls that DD will have to make.
  17. I like Shaw. I think he's a good player. He has a role on this team. He's been struggling. We always fall for that same old trap, he had a great game last night. Let's put him in there tonight, he's ready to roll. Let's keep in mind the A's starter Triggs left the game with some type of issue. That could have triggered Shaw's big night. I'm happy he had a big night, believe me. In another analogy momentum in baseball is the next day starting pitcher. Shaw/ Hill/ Moncada could rotate. If Yoan Moncada hits... He plays.
  18. Benintendi has already begun running at a good pace. He will take the next step, which is cutting in and out with the knee brace on next. If all goes well he could be back in maybe 2 weeks.
  19. I'm not sure this belongs in the game thread but worth bringing up.. Steven Wright is more than likely to miss his next start. His shoulder still aching. So good chance he will be skipped. But that's not a definite.(24-48 hrs) they will have some type of answer. John Farrell said WEEI reported.
  20. Moncada will start on Saturday. He will see the majority AB's against RHP.. Hill will also come in for him for a late innings defensive replacement. John Farrell was quoted: Boston Dirtdogs.com
  21. Lineup... Pedroia 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Shaw 3B Holt LF Leon C Bradley CF
  22. I would think Moncada would be in the lineup tonight. Just a guess he might hit 9th and move Bradley up to the 8th spot. But I'm not Farrell. They would be no reason to wait it out any longer... It's time...
  23. Yes. Hill plays. Oh Well. Shaw becomes the back up 1B to give Hanley a breather and PH off the bench.
  24. Agree. I only would start him against RHP at the moment. They need to ease him in slowly but not turtle slow though. I don't know if he's ready but at this moment in time I agree with the call up. If he plays like I think he will, I see him as the starter at 3B for the next 6 years. The scouts compare him to Carlos Beltran if that is the case, I take it all day everyday. Jmo
  25. You got it. Will be added to roster. Yoan Moncada will join team in Oakland. Breaking News... WEEI.Com .
