  1. Like it, good philosophy. At the limit if your good at evaluating, you should be Fielding a good team.
  2. Sean McAdam in San Diego, said nothing is going on with the Sox so far. Heard nothing, about Trades or who they are trying to move.
  3. 1 year deals make you a Rental. 2 year deals makes you tradeable.
  4. Georgia was overrated this year.
  5. I would not be shocked if Benni is moved, to Offset a Higher priced guy.
  6. Houck is a wait and see. When he got promoted to the Pawsox, they put him in BP. Hernandez, didn't do that great last year as a Starter in the Minors, but he impressed out of BP with the Parent club. We should be able to grab a cheap 5th Starter. Trade could be involved too.
  7. Cassidy of the Bruins is getting real pissed at the slow starts by the Bruins. Blackhawks humbled us, that's good. One of my favorite Hockey Players is Toews. Always, always liked his game.
  8. Some big games today, starting with Oklahoma vs. Baylor, to Georgia and LSU. Utah loss was big, last night.
  9. So you pay half of Price's contract, and keep Eovaldi at 17, no thanks, rather move Nathan. Price comes back after injury, and depending on Teams situation, he could be a could Trade chip in July. Gamble yes, but the Track record between Price and Nathan, is ridiculous. One is proven, the other never proved anything.
  10. One of the Smart moves by KC was after they Traded for Wade Davis, and saw he wasn't cutting it as a Starter for them, they moved him to the Pen. Davis went from a 5.32 ERA starter for them, to a lights out 8th inning Set-up man, for Holland. Starters that are FA's who might have the great arms, just not good, in the Starting role, is a good way to take a chance, on making your BP better, without spending big. Gamble yes, but you never know till you try. That's why I like Gausman, a role like this.
  11. To me Price is equivalent as Cole Hamels now. He would be a very good addition, to any team that wants to lengthen their Starting Rotation, if healthy.
  12. Rule 5 Draft is a tool, in MAYBE helping building a Team building Process. You use every tool you can that might work, to help the team. Especially when you have tools already in your organization, that wont help this year. Its not about Success or Failures, its about exploring anything that's available that might help. One Organizations Failure, might work in another. Depending on circumstances. That has to be studied, and Scouted. I want my GM, and Head of Baseball operations doing this. Its real easy to sign anybody to a huge deal. That's lazy GM work.
  13. He also said the most important Pitch in a at bat is the 1st Pitch. This starts the Process, of disrupting the timing. In one of his last interviews he said, that this is the most disappointing things in Pitching today. Not throwing 1st Pitch strikes.
  14. I like Gausman, always did. Kid has a live arm.
  15. If I was going to look at Pitching, I would look at the PCL. The launching Pads in Parks there, its hard to really know if they have true stats in that League. I would look at HR's. and Home Park he pitched in. Stay away from Minor League Pitcher in Pitcher friendly parks. Like Pawtucket and that whole league.
  16. I would look at Rule 5 guys that might be blocked on the Major League Roster. You really have to study and work. As far as a Pitching keep it simple, Look for Kids to Innings Pitched to Hits to Walks. You can find, just need good evaluations. Would say if you are interested in one say at 1st base for example, I want to see Progress throughout his Minor League Career, but just not the talent to over come one at the Major League level. Playing in Fenway, might be the difference on certain batters and their swings.
  17. No its not, Trade Deadline this year you have no idea what team might need Pitching, if contending for the Play-offs. If he is still here. You have 29 teams now for sure in it.
  18. Triple AAA stats Career. Lin .268 BA ,11 HRS, 642 AB's 26 in Feb. MH .290 BA, 11 HRS, 541 AB's, just turned 27 in Sept. Infatuation with Lin always amazes me.
  19. 2013 was one of my favorite teams ever. The Mental Toughness on that team, was the best I have ever seen. Nothing fazed them. Grind like Mothers.
  20. All great signings, with Good leadership, and Veteran presence. That was vital in winning. Swinging the Bat and Fielding is big, but great chemistry is big too. Wonder what the Total contract cost for that year.
  21. MH not being tendered. Stuck with him through the injuries, and now letting him walk. He seemed good every time that I saw him play. Somebody will sign him. Probably lose Holt, and letting MH walk doesn't make a lot of sense.
  22. This makes no sense. Hernandez is not bad at all, and this is Chump Change.
  23. If Price is not moved, he becomes a 5-10 guy now after this year.
  24. How much Cash the Sox will have to eat, to move either Price or Eovaldi. At 17 for Eovaldi, wont have to eat much is my guess. You can lose 1 not both. Got to have Pitching. Otherwise don't matter what Betts or JD does.
  25. Signed Rusney that year too.
