  1. Mesa missed out on Play-offs by half game. Notice ties matter. No extra innings. Final Stats. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_ibp&sid=l119&cid=555
  2. Last day for AFL. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=l_bat&lid=119
  3. Good for you.
  4. You think DH should be in Hall of Fame? If you think DH should be in HOF, then MVP has to be considered too. Betts had unreal numbers in 2016. 93 wins, right. 3 and out, in Playoffs. Without JD this year, I just don't see us winning it all. He was difference to me, on this team, this year. No need to comment on what I think, speak your own mind. Thanks.
  5. You think the Sox win it all this year if JD signed somewhere else, and we kept Hanley? Basically its same thing. We would have been obligated to Hanley's contract this year, and he's gone. JD will probably Opt out. So the question is without JD do we win it all, with Hanley and Betts, or JD and Betts? That's basically the only change from this season and last. We added Pearce sure, but we were in 1st at then too. The importance of JD was in line-up was huge, with those numbers. MVP for the Sox, to me, so how can you not think MVP for the league. Also JD's influence in the clubhouse, to me was also big. You guys can look up every number you want, I'll just rely on the old peepers. Without JD on this team, I don't think we win it. Lasts 2 years before this proved it. Price contributions as the Ace in 2nd half, when Sale went down was also big for this team. He is the up there for me too on Sox to be considered MVP for the Sox.
  6. 127 innings, in 99. 114 innings in 2000, I guess, just wasn't a good Catcher, Catching the Knuckler. In 2004 the WS year Mirabelli caught Wake, 186 innings. Varitek 2.1 innings.
  7. Mirabelli caught Wakefield 1012 innings Varitek 489 innings. Mirabelli was Wakefield's main Catcher while Varitek was here. After Doug was gone Cash was his main Catcher.
  8. You think the Sox will get to 8 World series in 17 years. Sox got to 4 in 14 years, Nope don't think so. Season not over for the Pats, anybody think that is a fool. Lot of Football left.
  9. You can check, just click on 2017. Mike Trout repeats almost every year 2015 on 2016 a little off 12th that year, with Runners left on with 2 Outs. So it is repeatable to good players.
  10. AFL Stats. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=l_bat&lid=119 http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=l_pit&lid=119 Ockimey 20 k's in 53 AB's, Dalbec 29 K's in 62 AB's. Geez. Scouts not impressed with Ockimey, and his play at 1st. They compare him to a Justin Bour type of player. Scouts are saying Dalbec has improved his Defense, so that's good news.
  11. 2 stats I liked about Harper this year. .293 RISP, and .373 BA, with 2 Outs and RISP. Had a better 2nd half. Manny this year. .331 with RISP, and .298 with 2 Outs and RISP, not bad either. Here's the list of 2 Out RBI's this year. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/player-stat/two-out-rbis Like this list too, Runners left on Base in Scoring position. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/player-stat/runners-left-in-scoring-position
  12. Probably Fans are saying he is not good for that blunder in Dodgers Stadium. Where actual Ballplayers have said that Park at that time is a nightmare.
  13. http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/is-jd-martinez-a-good-defensive-outfielder.24237/
  14. What we pay Leon, and Vaz, to the wins in many ways they contributed to, is the Value I'm talking about. Johnny Bench comes around very rare. You Trade Prospects for Realmuto, and although you gain, you lose to, by not really needing it. It becomes a luxury, those Prospects, could be used in other areas of weakness. Sorry, Blake, if we can move you to improve in other areas, so be it.
  15. Agree, 100%. More Teams like to tinker, after they have a winning formula. If it's not broke.... We need Eovaldi, if he comes back, at 15, Rick leaves, we save 5, next year. Gamble, but worked here. We got to start thinking Value over High Priced Talent. It can be done if DD and Mr. Cora, has good evaluators, in the background.
  16. Arizona had no problem sticking him in the Outfield. Probably the difference in them making the Play-offs, because of his bat. 29 HRS in 62 Games, they weren't worried too much about his Defense. This Opt. out has to be taken seriously.
  17. If I was JD, I would say, Hell Yes, I'll try 1st base. gives me a year to learn the Position, and if he hits close to like last year, gives him a lot of Options to Opt. Out. Teams will be looking for a good hitting 1st Baseman, Decent RF, and DH. By going to 1st and doing decent Opens up the National League Market for him, a lot more then just RF.
  18. Best wishes Moon. You'll be fine. We have another World Series, to enjoy. And hopefully more.
  19. If Cash is right, sounds good to me, this is value idea I like. Seriously, the Sox this Off-Season, got to be like Belichick, where every million counts. You sign Eovaldi at 16, and lose Porcello at 20, he does good, you save, after next year. This is the kind of thinking they need to do.
  20. This is important year to get Value, on good players that had a down year, and could turn it around. Miller comes to mind. Your going to need Cash. Sox have the Cash, just Luxury Tax hits hard if you don't win it all. Not so bad if you win the whole thing.
  21. So Porcello, Bogaerts, Sale, JD (maybe). Save Money. After next year, this team could be entirely different. Go for it now then I guess.
  22. Sports Radio up here say if JD has another year like last year, he'll OPT out.
  23. July 8 - Aug. 31, Leon was 28-8 catching, and mostly without Sale, during the Dog days of Summer. Hardest time of the year for a Catcher.
  24. If I were the Mariners, I would take the chance on Swihart. Costs nothing, and everything to gain. They just went through a Catcher, that plays great Defense, and had one good season, hitting. Sounds like Vazquez to me. I would take the chance on Swihart. Cost controlled, and probably cost a pair of Socks, for a Former 1st Rounder.
  25. Saw both in the Minors, still think Swihart has more upside. Just never gets the chance.
