  1. Vazquez was hurt July 7th, and returned Sept. 1st. Exactly 8 weeks. One-third of the season.
  2. This team had a unreal record when Vazquez was hurt for 8 weeks, and just Swihart and Leon as Catchers. DD might think about that. Most of those 8 weeks were without Sale too. Basically this team was without Vazquez and Sale, for 2 Months, and did better.
  3. Now its time for one of the most Dominant teams in the NFL last 18 years, in New England.
  4. Productive Outs, Hustle, and Smart Baseball, win games. If those are not factored into WAR, then that stat, is flawed. Good for quick reference. For those that like Stats. Quick example: Machado, probably great WAR, one play in Series against Brewers, hit a grounder, didn't hustles to try t beat out Double Play. Benni: Against Dodgers, 2 Outs, hits grounder to 3rd Baseman, bust his ass, down the line to beat out the throw to 1st. Next batter, Pearce, clears the bases with a Double. Was that factored into WAR for Benni? My advice watch the games more. You'll see plays, that wins games.
  5. I will say what this years team did in Houston, was unreal. So it close, just factoring in the pressure of a loss. With that I have to go 04. 1 loss and its over, on the Road.
  6. 04 team was 6-2 on the Road, this years team was 7-1. Down 2 games, going into Yankee Stadium, big difference, then going there tied 1-1. Or even Houston tied 1-1. To me a lot more pressure on the 04 Team. Against a Team that won multiple Championships. Yankees also had the best Home Record in the Majors that year. 57-24 This year we were 57-24 at home.
  7. Another thing about the 04 team since they were the WC winners, all their games except WS opened up on the Road. Games 6+7, were at Yankee Stadium, to finish comeback. We were still down by 2 games. That's not easy against that strong Yankee team.
  8. 2004 team beat 2 teams that totaled 206 wins that year. This years team beat 2 teams that totaled 203 wins. The 04 team only won 98 games (ha), not expected to beat those strong teams. This years team with 108 wins, had to be the favorite to win it all.
  9. I can see a team going all in on Corbin. To me, his best season was this last one. Only 28, Left Hander, in Yankee Stadium, he might work. Yep, the Yanks will be in on him.
  10. Porcello at 20 million is a better deal then Corbin. Balls find the Bats with Corbin. 945 innings, 944 hits. No Thanks. With Boston Rick has pitched 789 innings and has given up 802 hits.
  11. Any Pitcher in this year FA's class worth 20+ million a year?
  12. I liked the 2013 team a lot too. Did wonderful with less. Their mental toughness, once they hit the Post-Season, was great. Nothing bothered them. That's how I'll always remember that team. Of all the teams to me that would grind you to death was that one. The Vets, took over that team, it seemed to me, nothing was going to stop them.
  13. For me its impossible, after enduring Post-Season all the way back to 67. Just glad we can have favorite WS Championships, discussions, which team is the best.
  14. Not giving the 2007 team enough credit, that team was a wagon. We were down 3-1 to Cleveland, who was also very good that year, and came back and won 3 straight. We always go to the Yankee series, but that was a great comeback too.
  15. If you never played Hockey I could see it as boring. Without a Doubt the most physically demanding game, with Hard Contact. Grew up in different era on NBA, cannot watch it anymore. Rather watch College.
  16. In fact, because its still early in Baseball Season, its Hockey till Final Game is over in the Stanley Cup. The NHL, play-offs for me are just as intense as MLB Play-offs. GO BRUINS!!!
  17. Agree on Benni.
  18. Betts and Bogaerts, will be keeping an eye on this Off-Season for sure. With Machado and Harper hitting the Market. I'm sure any early signing, these core guys will want years. Then you have a Pedroia situation. Paying them, past their prime. Benni would be my target to sign on a reasonable deal, maybe JBJ. Devers still has question marks about him.
  19. Good Luck, after winning WS, and a couple of them Boras guys. These Projected arbitration salaries, will be enough for these kids to ride it out, until Free Agency. I wouldn't sign, now myself, if I was Bogaerts, JBJ, or Betts.
  20. Ryu got a QO. If he rejects it, he'll want years, on next contract. If were him I'd take the Offer, 17.9 not bad cash for 1 year.
  21. Anything on Kimbrel there?
  22. I'm not paying 11 million dollars to a 36 year old 2nd Baseman for his Defense. He'll be 37 next June. He'll be available next July, the ways he's trending, if you need him again for the stretch run. The thing about Kinsler Trade, is Trading away Ty Buttrey, going to bite you in the ass.
  23. The way Baseball is trending, all you might need is 2 Starters on a Team, and a Strong Bullpen. Be a hell of a lot cheaper. Sometimes as a Executive you got to think Outside the Box, instead of the Traditional way, is all I'm saying.
  24. I might have Out of the Box thinking, and do a John Smoltz, make Nathan Eovaldi our Closer (At least for now). Save the Money on Kimbrel, and see if you make a decent proposal to him, if he would go for it.
  25. Here's what concerns me about Kimbrel. From June 1st till last day of season, 37 games, pitched 37.1 innings (This is important), had 25 BB's. With 16 hits. 41 runners he put on base, between walks and hits, in 37.1 innings. He basically put a runner on base every time he closed, the last 4 Months. That's not Lights Out Closer stuff, as far as I'm concerned. He's got only 1 thing going his way for now. He doesn't give up HRS YET. 3 HRS only in 37.1. Including those last few Months, AND including this last Post-Season, is he trending the other way. I think he is, he throws a lot of pitches to get 3 Outs now, at least that how it seems to me. And that's not good. I cannot remember Rivera struggle that much, for so long, finding the plate...Be Careful.
