  1. Orioles 4-21 with RISP, Lucky we played the Orioles.
  2. Usually when you throw out a Players Worst, you should also throw out his best too. That usually tells about what kind of a player he is. Cant just go one way. Probably best way to go with such a streaky hitter like JBJ.
  3. Every team that plays you this year, is going to feel a little better, if they beat you. Even if your a bad team. So, in a way, you have to play better, then last year. They see you coming.
  4. Me too. Hockey and the Bruins for me right now. Tough match-up. Boston cant look ahead.
  5. No Negativity for me just telling the truth. Here's the 2 Line-ups other day. Getting swept would not be good. When they bring some of the kids up from the Farm, they should be better. Sox are playing in a division where there could be 2 -100 loss teams. http://www.espn.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=401074894
  6. Sox are playing a Triple AAA team, not much more.
  7. Kyler Murray said he will commit to Football rather then Baseball.
  8. With universal DH, there should be no more National and American Leagues anymore. Change it to East or West whatever, and get new divisions, so there is less traveling, and more rivalry games. White Sox play the Cubs 18 games a year. same with NY. Or keep the name for old time sake, but now make the Leagues more efficient. AL East Sox Yanks Mets O's Phillies Since the rules are now Universal, and everybody plays each other anyway, whether DH or not, there really is no more National or American Leagues. Only way you go back is where one League doesn't play each other. Like when there was no DH. Basically there is no more inter-league anymore. It's just one that you might not play another team that year.
  9. Roster change over is huge in the NFL. IF you hit in the Draft, you could improve of course. But, now in the NFL a Drafted Rookie after is FA after 4 years, 1st Rounders are 5, if 5th year Option is picked up. Then they are FA's. Now you start talking money, teams have to Manage the Cap. Sometimes you have to let some of your good players to leave. Just want too much. Dead Money is part of the Cap. In the long run Days of Steelers, Cowboys, Packers, keeping a Player Drafted, for the duration of their Career, is harder now. That's why what the Patriots are doing is unreal. Sure if you hit on the Draft, and that's a big if. You'll improve. But you need other ways to keep a good team competitive for any long stretches. Baseball needs a Cap, in the worst way. But, it will never happen. Salary Cap has made the NFL more competitive, more then anything.
  10. Nolan Arenado inks $26 million deal WWW.MLB.COM DENVER -- Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado woke up Friday morning with a new one-year, $26 million deal, a record for an arbitration-eligible player, already in his pocket."More room to get better -- more records are out there," Arenado said. The contract exceeded the $23 million deal that third baseman Josh Betts 30 Million next year?
  11. I understand Fans like looking at the Closer to the Major League level talent. But, a kid I saw Pitch in person, and was very impressed was Alexander Montero, he's my Binky this year in the Minors. Last year was Denyi Reyes, and I'll keep an eye on him also. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/bobby-dalbec-denyi-reyes-plow-forth-on-boston-red-sox-farm/c-296965218
  12. From that Poster I read 2 Scenarios, I responded to those. 1 is giving up a Run, the other one didn't. There is nothing to Debate, your a fool, if chose, one that allows the run. and other doesn't. ONLY, thing in Baseball that counts, is RUNS. After 9 innings, there is now WHIP, or ERA, just a score. Knock yourself out and give one million, different examples.
  13. Anybody thinking giving up a Run is better then not giving up a run, is an idiot.
  14. They are some of best game callers in all of Baseball, Jerry Grote wasn't a Offensive Gem, but those Mets Pitcher called him the best in the game behind the plate. Stop looking at Offense in this position.
  15. I do too. The Strength is from the Pitching side of these 2. They prevent Runs, by calling a good game, and playing strong Defense behind the plate.
  16. Vazquez got in 12 Post Seasons game this year, hit .216 32 at bats. Leon got in 10 Post Seasons game this year hit .231 13 at bats.
  17. Vegas has made gazillions off the Red Zone Non-Sense. That is one of their biggest Sabermetrics, for betting. Efficiency in the Red Zone. Probably use something like this in Baseball, Teams BP. Can they close a game out. Especially today, since you use multiple Pitchers to close it out.
  18. The dumbest thing I heard Dombrowski say this Off-Season is he wants to Trade 1 of our Catchers. Leon and Vazquez combined for 114-55. With a Cost of NOTHING. Swihart bring you nothing Back, at this point.
  19. "Saves" is a stupid word. It refers to old Days of Baseball. Where a Starter, would go 8 innings, and a Closer would be used for 1 inning. Todays game has changed so much, because of analytics. 100 Pitch Count started it. Todays game a Save starts as soon as the Starter leaves a game with a lead, usually going into the 7th, and so on. Todays game usually have 3 guys saving a game. Not 1, anymore.
  20. I'll keep an eye on Blown Leads, going into the 7th inning. Not 1 run leads, that always happen. I'll be looking at a higher number, where you should very rarely lose or tie it up. 3 run leads.
  21. Great Line! Like it. 100 pitch count, and mostly a 6 inning game, for Starters. Be careful.
  22. Something to think about, if the Sox start Pinching. Leon makes 2.475 mill this year. Vazquez will make 2.85 this year. Next year 4.2 2021 - 6.350 2022 - 7 million with a buyout, but could earn 8 Million.
  23. Sale by Catcher Vazquez 53.0 innings 3.40 ERA. Leon, 319 innings, 242 innings, 2.42 ERA Price 194 innings 2.83 ERA with Leon 262 innings 4.32 ERA with Vaxquez
  24. Sox Vazquez 51-29 W-L Leon 63-26 W-L I bet Sale and Price will have some say about the Catchers.
  25. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2019/01/19/baseball-has-taken-turn-for-worse-casting-aside-scouts/LpMe7IZJTdRqm20kLvEO0M/story.html Good article.
