  1. This shows me a lot, that they play Devers against a Lefty. He can hit Lefties, he did in the Minors.
  2. I think they should put a Big Pepto Bismol sign in front of the Dunkin sign in Honor of Mothers Day.
  3. The bad period is long gone.
  4. Agree, Buford had a very weak arm, because of that never played CF, or very rarely.
  5. That's how it starts. Simple things, usually does it. Work the Pitchers, get a count that you like, be smart, know the situation, and just try to make good contact. Hitting for these guys starts above the shoulders. Don't worry about launch angle. You have enough to worry about in a at bat. Study Pitchers more between at bats, Pitchers and Catchers give away a lot of tendencies. That you can use. Work the Pitcher also doesn't mean if he is constantly throwing 1st Pitch strikes, be ready for it. Might be the best pitch in the at bat. Study, watch, learn.
  6. I suggest if it's rained out, Bruins on at 3. Going to be another War, Carolina is not the slouches many think they are. Happy Mothers Day!
  7. Dalbec had 3 HRS. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/portland-sea-dogs-bobby-dalbec-blasts-first-career-hat-trick/c-307056462 I saw Dalbec a couple weeks back, 2 games against Hartford. Lets give him a couple of Months, in Double AA, before we get all giddy on him. He didn't too look good when I saw him. He's a slugger I expect HRS from him. This is a much tougher league.
  8. The BB's are what impresses me. Shows me he is selective, with a better eye, at the moment. Not just a free swinger.
  9. I like what Cora is doing by trying Chavis in the Outfielder. I think its not about trying to replace JBJ, but light a fire under his ass, in his at bats. Listen, not looking to turn it around and become Trout, but might make JBJ just get quality at bats. That's all we need we from JBJ, Quality. Less on the K's, work the Pitchers, just solid contact, and do what we need him to do the most, keep the line moving, to get to the better hitters. Been watching baseball since Mays, I cannot remember a CF playing a full season, as a Starter hitting under .200. Never mind under .150. Only one I could remember, was Paul Blair. You use these kind of players as Defensive replacements late in the game, where you need to save runs. Not at beginning, where you need to score runs. Competition forces people to make adjustments. If Travis Shaw can play 2nd base, I see no reason why Chavis cannot be giving a chance in LF.
  10. Darwinzon Hernandez has pitched a total of 368.1 innings in the Minors, for his career. He has put on base between base hits and walks, 515 base runners. This at Portland so far, 16.1 innings, 13 BB's, along with 21 K's.
  11. Of course Relievers cant have a personal caddie, but there is a difference. For a Reliever, that's a pretty big difference.
  12. Catcher thing with Hembree? Who knows. Leon 81 innings, 78 hits, 11 HRS, 99 K's, 31 BB's, 3.56 ERA Vazquez 89 innings, 103 hits, 16 HRS, 94 K's, 33 BB's, 4.12 ERA
  13. Keep an eye on the Tigers #1 pick last year. Casey Mize. He might, might, make the Majors this year.
  14. I'll give a heads up to my fellow Bruins Fans. This Carolina team is no slouches. Might be 1-0, but that team wont quit. Bruins have to keep the hammer down on these guys. Capitols didn't. They were up 2-0 on them.
  15. Portland getting No-hit its in the 7th inning. Pedroia is playing 0-3, so far. No-hitter broken up, by Brett Netzer. Houck got hit pretty good gave up 2 HRs, 3 runs in 2.2 innings. Casas with HR #6 today.
  16. Dalbec 2 errors (fielding) now at 6. 3rd quality start from Reyes. He's been walking people, very weird. In 2 other games he's pitched a 2 hitter, 6 innings, and a 3 hitter, 5 innings. Feltman 1 inning 4 BB's, 0 K's. 0 Runs most important. Looks like Adam Lau the closer at Portland, and Feltman the Set-up man. Lau 15.1 innings 21 K's. Getting back to Dalbec he projects to make 26 errors in 110 games. 110 games in the Minors, and many are 7 inning games. To be fair on Dalbec 1 error was at 1st base. But 42 total chances and 5 errors at 3rd base, this has to improve.
  17. Leaving a lot of LOB's offset even the most unbelievable Defense. Last night 3 LOB's. Night before 2 LOB's. Meaning getting the Clutch hit at right time, might not have to make game saving catches, to make the difference.
  18. Depends on Standings. Too early now. I don't expect the Sox being a .500 team, and I don't expect the Rays to play .650 till end of season.
  19. Do it right, push him ahead till May 17th, that should be enough rest, a full 2 weeks. To face the Astros.
  20. Give Columbus a lot of Credit. That is one tough team. GO BRUINS!! Finish the Job!!!
  21. Give Mike Shawaryn a spot start. Guess Ryan Weber was called up.
  22. Price is on the 10 day IL, retroactive from May 3rd. Elbow inflammation.
  23. I went to the games last year, when he just got back from suspension, in Hartford. He has worked on his swing, for the better. He was dropping his hands, and Striking out like a mother. Looked totally overmatched at Double AA. He now pulls his hands back, and waits on the Pitch, without dropping them. Fantastic. Excellent, Basic hitting. Keeping it simple is the best, when you have hands like him. Always had the lower body power, now he is using his hands too. Stay the course Michael in Fenway, this kid could be really dangerous.
  24. Yanks Severino out until after All-Star Break. Injuries are huge, to keep up a strong season
  25. Feltman is really young, so I expect it. He's already in Double AA, Drafted last year. Just turned 22. Still learning, the Pro Game. He's doing alright, patience.
