  1. What KC closer was that bad? I know they had Holland one year, then he got hurt and Davis took over. I think your thinking about their Starters, they didn't have good Starters, but a terrific BP, in 2015, and actually year before too, with Holland and Davis.
  2. If I was going to give an extended look, I would do it at his position, he was projected at, and Drafted at, not a position, you seem it might work. Not at the Major League level, should have been done years ago in the Minors.
  3. Who's played more games in the Outfield at the Minor and Major Leagues total, Swihart or Castillo? You play a kid that just doesn't have enough experience at the position, your just asking for a failure, and that's not fair.
  4. No, maybe not playing. If someone is hot in the Minors, and a player is not hitting, at the Major League level, you give a shot, at the Farm. Many teams do this. If your weak at the Farm, no reason to bring him up. Why shouldn't Castillo be brought up, isn't wining more important, than Luxury Tax? Has nothing to do about attitude, I'm sure, JBJ is trying his tail off, sometimes, a little kick in the ass is good. Competition is important. Their is none now, for these Outfielders, since their no threat from the Farm.
  5. Nobody in the Minors to push these guys, if they are slumping. Don't matter if Castillo is hitting .326 at Pawtucket, he's stuck.
  6. If you get your pen going in right direction, then its going to be a dogfight.
  7. Love Hockey Bruins 6 Lightning 2. Vegas is no slouch even though they lost yesterday.
  8. Leg fatigue in baseball compared to any sport is funny.
  9. JBJ's splits career. Sept/Oct. wow. 2nd half looks like he fades to me. Walks to K's ratio, concerning, 2nd half. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=bradlja02&year=Career&t=b
  10. Saw Andujar last year when he was with Trenton, I knew this kid is going to be something special. He doesn't strike out much either. Give him some more time in the Majors, he's your 3rd baseman of the future. We've got Devers, you Andujar, this is going to be good for a long time.
  11. 1-8 RISP, big spot in game, was runners at 3rd and 2nd, 1 out, Pop up to 1st baseman by Vazquez, and K by Lin.
  12. I don't, if your talking about JD Martinez. Morrison, and Duda, wont even come close, by end of year, in production. Unless their is an injury to JD.
  13. Guys 30-34 aren't old, what the problem is, their contracts (money), most of the time don't match, their production. That's why the Farm is essential. Also as you get older, the position you played when you were 23-29, you might not be able to play as you get older at your peak. It's just the way it is. DH has helped a lot to keep, the real good hitters in the league. But just cant play the field anymore., as good as they once were.
  14. He's going in the right direction, love that he's trying to cut his K's. When he striking out, he's in trouble. Last 7 days, .294 Last 14 days .324 Only 4 K's in that time, 34 at bats. Much better. This kid could hit, just start having a plan with every at bat.
  15. You think aggressive approach would have a big advantage for swinging at everything and big difference, for walks and strikeouts. No. Houston only walked 62 less times then the Sox last year. 162 games that's, minimal. But the Sox struck out, 137 more times then Houston last year. Houston was not only aggressive, but were selective too. That's were you want to be as a team on Offense.
  16. Sox hit 17 HRS last year on the 1st Pitch. Houston hit 55. So far the Sox have hit 6 so far this year on the first pitch. Almost one-third of last seasons total, and only a tenth of the season played. Cora has made a difference.
  17. This is a good trend. Hope it continues. Put the ball in play is good. He was striking out every 3.5 at bats before this season, with a HR with every 30.5 at bats, not good. He hits the ball up the middle and other way he's a .280 hitter. Pull the ball in a hitters count. He's a .300 hitter. I hope he is finally seeing, Power is not the answer, contact is.
  18. Injuries and Bad Luck had a lot to do with not winning before Francona. Losing Tony C in 67 Rice in 75. Was huge.
  19. 72-90 the year before in 66. Back Then NO FA's, to help the Managers, BIG TIME! Baseball, should be like Football, between eras. Football Salary Cap ERA Baseball- FA ERA. I've seen teams buy a Championship. Manager means very little, if you buy the talent. Williams Era was all Prospects, and Smart Trades. Where the Manager, really had to blend the team. Take out Manny Ramirez, and replace him with Jose Tartabull, and see how good Francona is then.
  20. I remember the Tigers hot start in 84, 35-5. That's when I would worry, if I was another team.
  21. Morrison hit 11 HRS at home last year, and 27 on the road. He has 98 PA's at Fenway with a .198 average, 5 HRS. Moreland has a .287 avg. in Fenway, so Moreland for me. When you play 81 games at home, some batters have the swing to the Park they play in. 354 PA's is not a small sample either. Maybe Morrison can do it too, or better. But, why take that chance. Also I think Moreland has a much more easier to Trade contract, if another team, has injuries. Not getting him for one year, if Traded this year, you get for next year too. Always like 2 year deals. Might get better Prospects with 2 year deals. When you Trade Rentals, the guy your Trading, better be exceptional, to get good Prospects. Neither of these guys are, so contract might be important, to team your Trading too.
  22. He'll be 28 in 4 days. Right in his prime, to get his Offensive game going, if he wants to get paid. He'll be 30 going on 31 when he is a FA. Teams wont be paying big bucks for Defensive Outfielders for all intense purposes, at 31. He'll be 30 when he signs, but a few weeks into season 31.
  23. Shoulder is responding, good.
  24. He could be a good hitter too. If he would just change his approach. Not think he's Willie Stargell.
