  1. Come on CV!!!! Get it going!!
  2. Get that Bullpen ready Seattle.
  3. Lets go Boys, lets get out of this inning.
  4. Come on Wright pick up Raffy.
  5. Well get this guy.
  6. This guy is a real bum, Yanks released him over the winter. COME ON SOX!!!!!
  7. Starting in 2014 we had no pitching nothing in the Minors. You start with Pitching. DD moved Positional Prospects and our best Pitching Prospects, for Pitching, had to. No Pitching for a long time, in the Minors. Now as we get another year into the season and next, these Pitchers will be Older. Still Nothing the Minors. Will these Older guys be effective as they get Older? Who knows? They are going to cost more. You make your move now. Its bad, I know, but we painted ourselves in a corner. Bad contracts, by previous GM, has us tapped out. We've been paying a huge Luxury Tax for years, but nobody has seen it. Contracts to Players that did nothing, to me is no Different then paying a Luxury Tax. Might as well pay for players that could win it. Prospects, and young players who have a future, wont have one, within 3 years. No Pitching. Simple. Might as well go for it now, and suffer later. Its coming down to this. Not hard to see. Only way around it is spend a lot again on FA's, and the circle continues.
  8. Sox are hitting .241 this year against LHP so far.
  9. OK makes sense, which is why it is more a priority now, not to worry about Luxury Tax, or moving younger players, to get the best possible line-up now.
  10. Yanks got hell of a young good Pitching in the Minors, yesterdays kid, not even their best. Down the road this will be the difference.
  11. Agree, 100%, we don't have the 4-5 year window many have said. 2 years tops I see.
  12. I bring this up, because Rosenthal brought this Trade up, he's usually pretty good. But I will add, I would not do this on July 31, too late want them now.
  13. So if your willing to demote him, then you must be all in to Trade him. Machado and Britton for Devers. You doing it? I would. O's in a couple of Months, might get more for these 2. If you could do it now, I would pull the trigger. This from a love for Devers, by me. It would hurt, but I would do it. Screw the Luxury Tax. Yanks would worry about the Sox Line-up with Machado, it would be potent. Britton comes back like he was a couple of years ago, is dominate. Lefty next to Kimbrel, WoW! I'll even throw in Trey Ball.
  14. Beeks won yesterday, but Lehigh Valley not good hitting team, 2nd to last in International League, as a team, hitting .237. Pitching is their strength. Great Game by Houck, 6 innings, 0 hits. Hope he turned the corner, but those Damn walks, 4 BB's, yesterday. Next weekend Beeks will be facing best hitting team in International League. Indy. Better gage game for me.
  15. Other day last 14 days JBJ's OPS was .806 in one day it dropped to .506, today its .398. Not sure about this stat short term. Seems like a Full season stat. Rather look at BA short term. Are you actually hitting the ball. I understand this is a faulty stat too, because you can hit the ball hard at players, or players make good Defensive plays, that's why it is more important to watch, then worry about his numbers. Most of everybody here knows when a player is coming out of a slump, or just not progressing. Forget the stats, watch the game.
  16. Just throwing this out there. Rusney Castillo stats in 4 years against LHP .298 2015 .304 2016 .395 2017 .337 2018 Sox are hitting .237 as a team against Lefties this year. .334 avg against Lefties, in 4 years, that not a small sample.
  17. Agree. That would work.
  18. Especially with teams falling out of Play-off contention. There is many of them. Might as well give the at bats to the kids, who are the future with Teams. Detroit is a good possibility, they are only 4.5 games out of first, still in it.
  19. After first at bat Mookie should be looking at Slugging %, never mind OBP. If he had Runners in Front of him on Base, his RBI's totals would be great. 38 Rbi's with 18 HRS, tells you bottom of order not doing their job. Unless he has 18 HRS leading off the game. Your not going to get 9 great hitters throughout the line-up, its up to the 7,8,9 hitters to try to keep the line moving. Grinding out good at bats, getting on base anyway possible, to get the better hitters to drive them in. Important runs, in the course of the game. Runs scored should be a stat looked at more. Any stat with the word Runs, is a good stat.
  20. Seattle has been the hottest team in MLB for the last Month, we got 7 games against them, in next 2 Weekends. Not the Orioles or White Sox. Legitimate good team.
  21. Saw this kid last year, with the Yanks then, the Hartford Yard Goats, beat him good, that game.
  22. Nothing special about this kid, Sox ought to beat the snot of him.
  23. Hardest debate of them all Defense vs. Offense. For me, I'd rather look at the match-ups for that day. If your facing a tough Pitcher where runs are going to be tough to get, I'll take the Defense. If I'm facing a Pitcher that we should handle pretty easily, I'll go Offense, get the Runs, then play Defense later in the game, to prevent them.
  24. Agree, with a weird off day thrown in there.
