  1. Nice at bat by Kike. He sucks.
  2. Cora is genius. Bench our better hitting hitter with elite speed. He is overrated.
  3. Do not trade the prospects.
  4. This team sure would look different with Eovaldi and a healthy Story. We're not that far off. We often speak of a window. It looks like window opens up next year and should stay open for several years. Big winter for Bloom. Should NOT count on Sale.
  5. Moon you keep talking about bad teams but other than Oakland who are they? Cincy at one point was a bad team. St. Louis too. We are the only East team with a losing record vs outside of the Division. Just not sure how we are going to go on a streak with missing starters in our rotation. We better sweep Oakland or its over.
  6. It's a problem when the fans see it before the manager and the staff. Remember Cora assured us Kike can play short.
  7. For those wishing, Cora still believes in Ort. Hall of Fame manager for sure.
  8. Not necessarily. We can keep Paxton until last minute, about the time Sale returns. I'm channeling Bloom's eternal optimism.
  9. Behind Bernardino, Adam Duvall and Kiké Hernández are both out of the lineup with Jarren Duran starting in center field and Christian Arroyo at second base against Texas righty Dane Dunning. Connor Wong will do the catching. Looks like we have a chance today.
  10. With Trout and Judge out, maybe Verdugo will be in Seattle.
  11. You make too much sense. Are you sure you're Sox fan? We have a fan base that is praying Story comes back, Whitlock comes back healthy, Sale comes back healthy, Houck comes back healthy, Schreiber comes back healthy, Duval returns to his April form, those lefty relievers signed by Bloom over the winter comes back healthy, Chang returns from his third rehab attempt, Mondesi steps out of whirlpool long enough to test whatever it ails him, Bello continues to pitch like an ace, Kluber finds separation with his breaking balls from his 88 mph fastball finally, Crawford doesn't regress, that we're successful with an Opener 2 out of every 5 games, and there's finally peace in Ukraine.............Geez, anything else? Threading the needle comes to mind. Or is it finding a needle in haystack?
  12. I'm wondering if Rafaela would be a great utility guy until he starts someday. He can fill both infield and outfield positions at a high level.
  13. I like this team. Just not this year with all the injuries. And I am perfectly ok with being wrong and have egg on my face.
  14. Here is where we are....this is injury riddled team. I don't want to think about it because it really pisses me off. Story is at the top of my s*** list. After underwhelming performance last year, he follows up with this....0 production in 2023. He forced me to watch Kike play out of position. That really pissed me off. Sale....what can you say about him? His extension is beginning to look really bad. Yeah he says all the right things. Bottom line is he is f***ing dead to his teammates. Just shut the f up and get back on the mound and earn some of your paycheck. Houck out. Whitlock maybe out. Bloom's worst signing to date, Kluber. What the hell happened to Schreiber? Chang is out. Mondessi is in club med enjoying his time off. Moon, we are not going to go anywhere with all the injuries. Sell and get healthy for 2024.
  15. Not to be the Rain Man...... 23-28 CC Wong 23-28 1B Casas 23-28 2B Story ??-?? SS ???? 23-33 3B Devers 23-27 LF Yoshida 23-28 CF Duran 23-24 RF Verdugo 23-23 DH Turner I think it's incredible that 5 of 9 positions have players under team control for 6 years, through 2028. 1 player (Yoshida) is under team control for 5 years (23-27). Another player, Verdugo is under team control for 2 years (2-24) and he maybe extended. We just need to fill SS, DH and RF (it maybe Verdugo). To me, we're closer than we think. Work needs to be done with our starting rotation. We may need a witch doctor more than anything else.
  16. I was curious about that. Smith looks hittable.
  17. Rangers go up 11-10 in bottom of 8th. Houston goes ahead 12-11 in top of 9th. Looks like Texas could use a closer. Lol
  18. We might as well play good teams. We suck vs bad teams.
  19. The are paying Perez $18M. That sounds like #3 to me. Just kidding.
  20. Not to nitpick, but yes, Bloom said Xander was a priority. But I'm saying that I think Bloom knew Devers was the bigger priority. And Bloom has said many things that hasn't come true. Not saying he's a liar. He believes in certain things, but he's often wrong.
  21. Ok, someone mentioned Perez is #3 starter for the Rangers. They are getting blitzed by the Astros 10-5. Perez lasted 1 1/3 innings today. Giving up 6 hits, 6 earned runs on 3 dingers. You think the Rangers are concerned about Paxton's health? They invested $500M last year between Seager and Semien. They paid out $185M contract to deGrom this year. It's now or never type of the year for the Rangers. They would love to have Big Maple in Big Texas. We should get a young starting arm....they have enough of it. The Rangers are $5M+ under the cap. We're on the hook for $4M on Paxton. Hell we can pay 100% of his salary if that helps. Bloom is just that kind of a guy. How enticing is that for the Rangers? Get a quality #3 pitcher and stay under the cap. They have plethora of young arms. It's a no brainer.
  22. I'm bit skeptical of these All Star selections. So many teams with one selection and my guess is certain positions are more open than others. Devers and Verdugo deserves just as much as Jansen. Same goes for Bello.
  23. Many here would disagree, but Devers was a bigger priority for Bloom. With Story and Mayer on the horizon, and the third base occupied by Devers, why would we sign Xander to a 10 year deal? How many Sox fans dropped off because of it? Being a baseball fan today means your favorite Sox many not be a Sox forever. Those days are gone.
  24. I think we dodged the bullet with Xander signing. It's business. How excited am I to be a Padres fan knowing we're year 1 of 10+ year deals of Xander and Machado? I can't wait until they're 40. Oh boy. And Borass will demand $40M for Soto. You chose very unwisely, Padres. They should have extended Soto and passed on Xander.
  25. Moon, there should be a separate thread for 2023 Trade Deadline, pleeeeeeease
