I've always thought Brock Holt was overrated. I still prefer Lin. But I'm a Sox fan first. I will gladly take all punishment I deserve on this board if he has a great year. It won't be my first and certainly not my last mistake about a player. I NEVER wish someone to perform poorly. I will need to find a different dog to kick around.

Thornburg, Wright, Pedroia along with Poyner and Xander. This is the team those on DL are itching to join/rejoin. Wouldn't you want to be part of this group? Yeah maybe it was over the top but I am glad that we picked up JD Martinez. He is a professional hitter. I have an image of him akin to a pool player. Does he go home every night with his bats in an expensive case, taking a cloth to it and making the bats shine? "Pick me out a winner, Moon"

There's going to be competition in the pen when everyone returns.

I also think once all the pitchers are healthy (Thornburg, Wright, Maddox, Poyner...) we'll have some minor league depth for the bullpen. This is fun team to watch right now. Once we get Dustin and Xander back, I can't imagine us not scoring and there will be games we'll just blow open the game as we've done the last two games.

Please don't compare Moreland to Holt. Moreland money well spent. Holt still sucks. I wouldn't do back flips over .205 hitter making $2M+.

Yet people criticize DD for not being able to sign a 'cheap' starter. They knew Sox starting pitching was loaded.

I would love to see Swihart get little more playing time this year behind the plate. Who is that kid at the top of OPS?

Well, 24 out of 25 isn't too bad.

I used to hope that Jason Veritek would strike out with less than two outs with runners on base so he wouldn't hit into rally killing double play.

I will hate any Sox that sucks and don't deserve to be on the 25 man roster. Lin is better defensive infielder. I would also play Nunez in front of Holt when Dustin returns. I'd rate Holt behind Betts, Beni, JBJ, Martinez, Nunez and Swihart in the outfield. I'm sure Holt is a great guy. I would buy him beer all night. Being nice doesn't make you a good baseball player.

Yep It's time to just sit back and enjoy our team play. Each player has pluses and minuses. It's not as though we didn't know that JBJ was a 'streaky' hitter last winter. DD chose to keep him for his defensive prowess.

Brock Holt is now 1-16. Best play he's made this season is getting Kelly suspended for 6 games.

Having 3 1/2 game lead going into Yankee series is a big plus. We can simply focus on winning each series. Going 1-2 vs the Yankees won't be so bad. But it's a big test. We have our 1-2 going in Sale and Price vs damn Yankees.

Moon, if Xander is out for extended period, our nightmare comes true. Our #3 SS will now fill in for Xander. We don't have a #2 on our roster.
