  1. He hit it too hard......he's at his best blooping that single over 2nd baseman's head....
  2. Using reverse psychology...
  3. 50% chance next two batters strike out.
  4. E Rod apparently having another tough luck outing...down 0-4 after two innings. His balls contantly run into bats. Our rotation is seriously in trouble. But we can send down Houck. Go figure.
  5. They seem to be sending better talent to make up for not having to pay for 2021 salaries of players they've acquired.
  6. Yankees did get better. Their first base production was worse than the Sox's.
  7. Yankees gave up #9 and #12.......for Sox that would be Nick Yorke and Noah Song.
  8. Writer for NY Post understands Yankees mindset. It is moments like those that you need a good hitter (man on third with less than two outs). The Yankees are more replete with dangerous hitters, not necessarily good ones. Gallo will move into that seamlessly. In part because the Yankees’ brain trust just can’t resist this type. They love the idea of presenting menace at the plate, making pitchers feel a conveyor belt of looming threat. The 6-foot-5 Gallo will fit next to the 6-7 Aaron Judge and 6-6 Giancarlo Stanton and 6-3 middle linebacker that is Luke Voit. When it goes right (and in the case of Gallo now, left) for these Yankees, they will be the Bronx Bombers in full
  9. He'll start on August 7th so he'll come bacl up. Meanwhile he's going down to stay in routine, start for AAA team. Unless someone gets hurt. Sounds like we'll have to stomach one more turn of Richards.
  10. Cole gave up 8 runs today.....He still looks good to me but he can be scored on....
  11. Swihat Ghost needs to quit watching the Titanic. Not every ship goes down.... But I am THE one that freaked out about Kike leading off......geez what was I thinking?
  12. Was it him or was he told that?
  13. Available today..Barnes, Ottavino, Taylor, Darwinzon, Valdez, Rios 7.28 (W) Whitlock, Barnes 7.28 (L) Rios, Workman 7.26 (W) Valdez, Ottavino, Barnes 7.25 (W) Rios, Taylor, Workman 7.24 (L) Ottavino, Taylor 7.23 (W) Valdez, Rios, Whitlock, Darwinzon, Workman 7.22 (W) Taylor, Darwinzon, Ottavino, Rios, Barnes
  14. Not one person commented on my previous avatar, Sandoval Car Lot....
  15. "They will spend, spend, spend, again." Moon G Cole just gave up 4 runs in bottom of 1st....yep, keep thinking you're in the playoffs.
  16. For Scherzer, it's beginning look like a non rental.
  17. I'm working from a perspective of payroll budget of $230M. Penalty of 42.5% in third year costs us $8.5M, which to me is insignificant for the Sox ownership. Hopefully we'll be drafting post 25th in future years so not sure I'm going to get too excited about losing draft pick. This is where Bloom excels I think, finding little nuggets.
  18. I'm embarrassed but I have no idea who Berrios is.
  19. Which begs the question, why are we so stingy with them when it comes to trading them to acquire proven talent?
  20. Suppose we're able to land Scherzer without much damage to our minor league system. Competitiveness of a player is difficult to measure. It's like 'porn', I know it's bad analogy. You know it when you see it. Scherzer types exudes confidence, similar to our Chris Sale. Then you have Richards. He may have lost his future earnings with his little outburst. Question becomes this for me...are we better off combining the salaries of Richards ($10M), Perez ($5M), Andriese ($1.2M) and even E Rod ($8.3) and getting a Scherzer or do we wait and hope to develop a Scherzer and spread the risk among several starters as we did this year? How long do we wait? Posters here at different times were excited for Groome at one point. It's been a journey for him and the outcome is still uncertain. Our top two starters right now came via a trade, Sale and Eovaldi. We gave up some talent. (I wish we could have kept Kopech). I think we're moving in the right direction with young arms such as Seabold (25), Mata (22), Bello (22), Ramirez (20), Groome (22), Song(24) and Ward (24), not to mention Whitlock (25), Houck (25), Darwinzon (24), Taylor (28) and Pivetta (28). I'm not asking Bloom to empty the pantry. Just part with little of it to get a bona fide ace.
  21. I meant for 2022.
  22. There are several veterans that may not be protected on 40 man roster. Richards Perez Andriese Ottavino Workman Plawecki Chavis Gonzalez Santana
  23. My guess is everyone wants to see Scherzer pitch tonight before the deal is finalized. He was scratched from last start due to some tricep tightness.
  24. New York Post The Yankees will be receiving more than Joey Gallo and Joely Rodriguez from the Rangers – Texas also is paying both players’ salaries the rest of the season, The Post has learned. That is not insignificant, as the Yankees’ aim clearly is to remain under the $210 million luxury tax threshold and they were projected at about $206 million before this deal. For purposes of the tax, Gallo would count about $2.3 million and Rodriguez $1.03 million. Interesting that apparently Yanks will NOT go over $210M.
  25. My guess is we do NOTHING.
