  1. Could Boston Red Sox promote prospect Durbin Feltman to help bullpen? ‘I knew 2019 was a fluke. I knew that wasn’t me’ Per MassLive Sure, why not?
  2. His best pitch is changeup. Probably shouldn't have thrown it back to back.
  3. 10-7 lead with a closer and couldn't hold the lead.......
  4. I would be very surprised if Bloom dismantles the ballclub that's been in the playoff hunt without the services of Sale for most of the year. I find it very difficult to swallow the idea of extending a $18M deal to a pitcher that performed at best 'average' making $8.3M. Bloom added two 'keeper regulars' in Kike and Renfroe. Cost effective acquisitions. Bloom added a 'regular starting pitcher' in Pivetta. He came very cheap. 3 more years of team control. Bloom found another 'keeper' in Whitlock. Maybe we paid $175K for him. 5 more years of team control. Bloom stayed the course with Dalbec. I believe the Sox paid $30M for the 'rights' to Moncada. His OPS is .778. Dalbec now has 21 HR, 70 RBI and .793 OPS. (I know they play different positions). With 3 weeks to go, Dalbec MAY garner couple of Rookie of the Year votes. He stays. 5 more years of team control. Verdugo now has gone from #1 outfielder to #3, behind Kike and Renfroe. And that's a good thing. Tells you that team is better. I think Bloom extends Eovaldi this winter or in April. All of sudden we are talking about defense but with Xander and Devers, at best we're average on the left side. I just want another 'impact' starter and Schwarber. Everything else can be pieced together. Houck becomes either set up or closer if we acquire another starter.
  5. I just posted the injury update list for the Yankees from the MLB site. I've done this before. What the f*** is your problem, Francis?
  6. Yankee News (only because they're fighting for a playoff spot) Gerrit Cole, Jameson Taillon and Zack Britton, Yankees Cole (left hamstring tightness) played catch on Thursday and is now expected to throw a bullpen session either Friday or Saturday. Barring any setbacks, this would set the star right-hander up to start either Monday's make-up game against the Twins or Tuesday's series opener against the Orioles. The Yanks placed Taillon on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a tendon injury in his right ankle. The club is hopeful that Taillon can return this season. More > Britton, meanwhile, underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in addition to a bone chip removal and could now miss most or all of the 2022 season. More >
  7. There is never a log jam unless a team is winning 108 games and winning the World Series. We're not there yet. These things always work themselves out. Not sure the logjam you're talking about but I'm assuming... JD, Schwarber, Dalbec, Kike, Verdugo, Renfroe and Duran. JD will be gone in one year if he does not opt out. Schwarber can DH, play LF and 1B Dalbec can play 1B and 3B Kike can play 2B, who knows how often Arroyo will get hurt, he can relieve Xander also. Verdugo and Renfroe may need time off....scheduled day off as Cora calls it. I wouldn't trade a top 25 mlb prospect just yet....they've been patient with Dalbec, they will be patient with Duran. You have 7 players for 5 positions...Cora loves the flexibility. Someone will slump, someone will be hurt.
  8. Not directed at you...... We did not acquire Schwarber to sit on the bench. He's exceeded our expectations including his willingness to play 1B.
  9. I agree. Why are we giving a guy that's only making $8.3M a $18M qualifying offer after the year he's having? He deserves a $10M raise? Would the Rays make that offer? I freakin seriously doubt it. Again, am I the only idiot on this board?
  10. On a serious note, what procedure did Britton just have? Is it similar to Tommy John?
  11. Can we not do better than E Rod at $19M for 1 year? Are we hoping for him to refuse and garner a comp pick?
  12. Yankees going down for four straight versus Jays. Where is Jacksonianmarch when you want to ask him a question. Last time he said he was busy during Yankee slump.
  13. Bloom...Duran has chance to be great. I know, I know, he says that about everyone. That's what I've been told. I must be the idiot here.
  14. Why do you want to pay him $18M if you think he sucks?
  15. One bit of good news for the Sox Boone called it “reconstruction” of the UCL, and Britton had another bone chip removed by Dr. Neil ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Asked if next season was in jeopardy for Britton, Boone said, “We’ll see.” The manager initially said he wasn’t going to speculate on a potential return next season, but added, “There’s some optimism he could be back toward the end of next year.” It’s another blow to the Yankees and Britton, who had his $13 million option for 2022 picked up before this season thanks to a clause in his contract. That translates to $14M in AAV. Sucks for the Yankees.
  16. I trust what Bloom actually says before ME.
  17. But I have not heard him say that about another player. He was quoted in MassLive...you know with "********, ********, ********"
  18. come on man....this was in response to a poster. you have to follow the chain of communication.
  19. How exciting would it be to have 3 team wild Card? Best record team hosts in a double header. #2 WC vs #3 WC at noon, winner plays #1 WC at 7 pm....little bit of College World Series. Yankees, Jays and Sox fighting to play the Rays.....
  20. Bloom on Duran in May...."He has chance to be a great player" Now he's a trade bait? I thought Bloom was the guy when it came to unearthing diamond in the rough.
  21. I love your idea of strengthening our starting rotation. I would take chance on Syndergaard myself. It's like rebuilt engine. He'll return to his elite status. I think it's easier to project next year's lineup than going from 2020 to 2021 season. We got tons of answers this year. Devers....capable of winning MVP at some point. Kike....can play 2B, ideally he's our CF and leadoff batter. Renfroe....he's our every day RF. Arroyo....when he's healthy, he's a solid 2B or high value utility player. Dalbec...If I've been in comma and woke up yesterday, I'd say he's had a pretty good rookie year. Not great, but serviceable. Schwarber...he can hit. Knowing that we paid $22M for JD, it's easy to stomach whatever we have to pay to sign him, regardless of if JD opts out or not. Pivetta...not sure how much more upside he has but one of best pick up last off season. 3 more years of team control. Whitlock...whatever role he pitches in (hopefully a starter), best value for money spent. 5 more years of team control. Sawamura...two more years of team control, hopefully he'll have learned and gained experience in American baseball. Darwinzon...he has higher ceiling, you keep working with a lefty don't you? I would love to see the team go over the tax limit by $20M, especially knowing that Price money, JD money (if he stays) and Eovaldi money are coming off the books. Let's hope that players union won't retreat against the owners. I predict Eovaldi will be extended similar to Chris Sale and before Devers. He's becoming a pitcher, not just a thrower.
  22. I think we're all in agreement. I want Schwarber reardless. We can have both if JD stays. He can opt out and we can always find a DH.
  23. He's a big 'teaser'.....will the real E Rod stand up?
  24. in essence he's taking a two year deal worth $8 per year. Why in the hell would he do that? What agent is going to tell him "you're sucking" so you should take $35/3 offer?
