  1. On another note not the Pen, Also the St. Louis Blues fan had "heavy legs." The excuses now being made for young guys missing games is laughable. Yaz played with broken ribs, Evans with vertigo and concussions, Hobson with an arm kept together by super glue, Lynn rammed into a steel wall and still stayed in game 6, 75. Enough of the pampering Benintendi, the team needs its best players in the lineup, not Nunez at DH. Pathetic.
  2. big guy with shaggy hair...just kidding. Although he may turn into one some day soon.
  3. That is a valid statement and I think it's because the Sox ran out of money with Xander/Eavoldi.
  4. The love affair on Kimbrel is great, except he had an opportunity to re-sign at 17.25 mil for 2019? He wanted his pay-day. Tell me in a million years where a guy who imploded in the postseason when everyone else was pulling their weight for a WS title suddenly can be in a positioning of bargaining power? He didn't want to be a Red Sox. It's okay, so now he's a Cub after missing a lot of time of no baseball. That's on MLB too, but bottom line he could have been the closer if he really was a "team player." Instead he was in double-down I'm a free agent mode. f*** that, f*** him. f*** everyone who still in love with him. He is as much responsible for not being the Sox closer this year as anyone.
  5. As someone who frequents this site once in a Blue Moon Odom, I agree. Everyone calm down and eat some fruit. (extra credit for the movie).
  6. Ken give them up, full-pack Giles. Uh no.
  7. Precisely why it's more than just blown saves killing the Sox.
  8. Don't disagree that we probably win 10 more games with a pen. But it is what it is.
  9. He's not killing the team as much as the Committee of Closers, but Sale and Porcello not exactly helping out.
  10. Xander and Devers have had fabulous seasons, the team's brightspot, that and EROD
  11. Swihart, he had a 17 mill to re-sign for one year, and if he did he would have been the closer. It's not like the Sox had any other money to give him. MLB colluded on both Keuchel and Kimbrel. The price of being greedy for big long contracts
  12. Balls are flying out of the park at an alarming rate and the Sox aren't keeping pace, especially at Fenway where the Monster is the opponent's free fly ball zone now.
  13. That's on MLB, not his agent or Dombro..he could have signed for 17.25 million
  14. I'm guessing everyone under 50 is crying the sky is falling and most of the 50 and over set are saying f*** me, I'm lucky as hell to be a Sox/Pats fan.
  15. Crying for Kimbrel back is ******** too. He f***ing was a heart attack often, especially when Joe Kelly was a better option in the playoffs.
  16. On the bright side, 100-million Sale gave up only 5 runs in 6 IP while one of the statistically worst SPs in baseball gave up less. :-)
  17. I'm sorry I'm gonna defend Dombro. We won the 2018 World Series, it was a glorious regular season and sensational playoffs. This is all gravy right now. If the worst thing is the Red Sox have no bullpen, so be it. It can still be fixed, lots of ways to work a deal or make something happen with waiver wires.
  18. Im voting for shaggy haired fella.
  19. So I have another thought draws. How come every team in MLB seems to hit home runs at will, leading off games, back-to-back-to-back, 9th inning, etc...but the Red Sox hitters can't hit similar home runs v. some s***** relievers and starters. Yes, 7 runs was more than enough to win, but in general, the Sox don't hit clutch bombs certainly not at the regularity of opponents v. the Sox pen.
  20. Cora wanted Wright to have a successful outing and he did. Barnes is not a closer. It's too much for non-closers to become closers. Pen is in shambles for most part.
  21. The Sox got over their hangover. The pen still needs a veteran closer out there to step in I think, but Sox have been getting it done. Go Sox!
  22. My classic post gives Swihart all the momentum to have the game of his life for Sox...Love it. Go Sox!!! Moreland saved their butts, Holt did too. And some luck like the A's error and the double off the base.
  23. Meanwhile Vasquez is settling in and hitting for some pop and that's a big asset.
  24. Not to take anything away from Swihart, but if he was a Boston Bruin, he would have been jetisoned by now. He's not that great in any real area. He gets fooled at the plate, and never understood the love that Cora had over him. I think he was going to dump HanRam no matter what, and it seemed to come down to some weird by product of keeping Swihart on the MLB roster. I'm done with SS. I tried to pull for him, but he's not a MLB catcher, nor will be.
