  1. I was there, it was incredible...sorry I haven't checked in, What a year...119, Go Sox!!
  2. Benintendi has to start or he will turn into a mess rest of series...
  3. If benintendi doesn't start over betts or jd, it's a crime.
  4. I'm having fun nevertheless
  5. Porcello and Betts with HRs
  6. Sox lineup 1b-Holt, 2b-Betts, 3b-Devers,SS-Bogey, LF-Beni, CF-JBJR, RF-JD, C-Vasquez/Leon...I would do that just for the fun of it.
  7. Joe Machine Gun Kelly is my mini-me MVP
  8. But if the Sox win game 3, I would start EROD in game 4...that I would like to see only just to see DR bench Muncie/Bellinger to the dismay of Dodger fans and the LA press...
  9. Fan since Boggs....ummm....okay, so here it goes...THE IDEA HERE IS IT AIN'T GOING 7. THIS IS THE TYPE OF FAN-THINKING FROM PRE-04 SOX FANS. THE SKY IS NOT FALLING, I REPEAT THE SKY IS NOT FALLING sincerely, Fan Since Yaz/Conigliaro
  10. "Germans? Don't stop him, he's on a roll."
  11. Since Price, Sale, Eavoldi, Porcello, Eduardo and Pomeranz are all starters and relievers, they earn their salaries
  12. Righty pitchers v. Dodgers btw in Game 2...LA 0-for-9
  13. It would force Roberts to either sit Muncie/Bellinger...again...or realize his analytics aren't getting it done
  14. If Sox win game 3, pitch Pomeranz and Eduardo in game 4.
  15. Betts at 1b,2b,RF,CF....Sox can play a Betts Shift as he rotates from each position as the Dodgers get nervous.
  16. Didn't the Dodgers go down last how many batters in a row?
  17. The Dodger radio talk shows raking Roberts and bitching about the Baez being removed situation.
  18. More fun facts...Cora is a genius!!!
  19. Hanram was the only consistent reliable hitter in last year playoffs for Sox.
  20. Everything is fodder, catalysts, and encouragement for the Sox to kick opponents asses. Better that there is all that "trolling" by others to denigrate the 116-win Sox. Let's get to 119 and call it a year....:-)...Go Sox!!
  21. Yaz got booed mercilessly on a few in 1972. didn't hustle out a few grounders...it's been like this for years and years. Pick your spots, that's a ballplayer in general. Can't get Pedroia/Rose too much anymore.
  22. Back to the Beni v. Hustle argument: I've been saying all year that Bogey and Betts in particular seem to have a habit of slowing down last 10 or 15 feet on a grounder in the hole or picked up that they feel over the 180-something game grind isn't worth that last few steps. Bogey beat out that one DP type ball (but really that was not a bang-bang and simply was a great play by Machado just to get the first one), but a lot of times watch Betts/Bogey. They will often be out by a single 1/2 step or 1 step and one wonders if they both wouldn't have a few more hits if they did a Pedroia every time down the line. What's the point? The point is this is today's MLB, people pick their spots. They don't run out every ball, they don't hustle on every ball, and it's okay. I get it. It's fine. Beni is fine, Bogey, Betts all good. I can live with all of it.
  23. And I'll add one more time that Cora left in Brasier to face Machado when (just like Kimbrel) it seemed Brasier couldn't throw strikes or didn't get his breaking ball over. But it worked out, Brasier didn't give up a bases loaded double, he gave up a SAC Fly and it was minimal damage. That's where Cora and Roberts are different. Cora wants the 1-inn performance and will show faith in his relievers to get the job done. Roberts immediately does match-ups and that's what a lot of managers do--treat the matchup over the hot pitcher. Cora lets the guy finish an inning and I believe Cora would have let Baez pitch to the next hitter, trying to get a full inning out of him.
  24. Tyler, yes lucky and lucky. But here's the thing. This was not luck in the respect that Dave Roberts changed the momentum. He had a guy on the hill who was just dominating in his 2 Ks. The Dodgers were very much in the game, the Sox were hanging on to that 1 run lead. And then he changed the momentum on a dime. He created a Sox momentum. The moment Baez left the hill, I immediately as a fan had a sense of relief, and if you don't think Cora and the Sox dugout didn't feel the same, then don't know what to say. It was the change of the game. Nunez of course made Cora look like a genius in a big way, but he could have easily been a goat for not leaving in a hot hitting Devers, who I still would have had face Wood. But it worked out. It was Roberts who changed the game with a move, not Cora...:-)
  25. He dove to save the day and made a catch in that odd spot at Astro land and made it look easy to end series. Some LF may not even gotten to that ball. He is extremely quick and part of the best outfield in baseball. JBJR made a terrible throw on the SF. His throws home have been his one disappointment as a fielder. If he could ever harness that throw and be accurate, he'd throw out a ton of runners from medium-CF.
