  1. JD may opt out of Sox, but I'll tell you this, sure as hell glad every time he is in the lineup, always a chance of a bomb or a big hit.
  2. They should always do a "fit" test on some free agents. Carl Crawford and Panda were 2 guys that not only did I think were not going to fit BEFORE they were signed I was convinced both would collosally fail and be sent out of town. Sadly I was right on both.
  3. Another bad salary, wow, so much wasted cash.
  4. Cora won 119 last year...when you find me someone who can do better, give me a call or better yet don't ever call me.
  5. Castillo was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Puig, or the first coming of some exotic International star...the more I look back, it's utterly amazing his name still comes up.
  6. Threw him in there the way I would do for Matt Beleskey
  7. JBJR is the only guy on Earth who is too good defensively to leave off the field, and with Vasquez becoming a bonafide hitter with some power, JBJR's weak bat is acceptable. Leave him and that situation alone. The SP suck enough and would suck some more without him out there manning (not rick) CF.
  8. Rusney Castillo, Panda Sandoval, Carl Crawford, Pearce, Nathan Eavoldi...albatross salaries
  9. Game is far from over, but it's very hard to chase the score every game. It's just too much, and then you give up runs back.
  10. 16-game HR streak for Sox at Fenway--encouraging to see JD go deep to RF
  11. Porcello is just a joke, no other way to beat around the bush. He was a Cy Young and he had some electric moments last year in playoffs, but so did Sale, so did Pearce, Eavoldi. These guys are just I don't know...it's pretty evident they are toast
  12. The message of no incoming talent (other than Rock the Cashner) is the message that the Sox are settling for being out of postseason
  13. Jesus, he is awful, f***ing awful
  14. At least Rick has figured out his problems, and is confident that...he f***ing sucks
  15. Didn't take long on Porcello to cough up a run, as usual the biggest problem with Sox--SP
  16. The Sox could have gotten a reliever, but other than that what's the point. However, the Sox SPs could actually pitch like they care and it would result in more wins. Relievers not as big an issue as the SPs not delivering
  17. Drysdale also the King of Plunk
  18. Gibson would headhunt you though, i bet he would if a batter stepped in that box on a ceremonial first pitch.
  19. Absof***inglutely, agreed.
  20. Sale is the most professional, fundamentally sound, focused, greatest...underperformer in Sox history. Nah, just kidding, he did his job at times when it counted last year, but let's face it. He's not the SP we envisioned as automatic Pedro lights out, game over.
  21. The Beni play was one for the ages. One of the biggest defensive plays in MLB history, maybe not to the level of the Butler Did It For NFL, but easily one of the most clutch catches ever.
  22. Taking it a step farther, we all use what we used to call sample sizes and create streaks of good and bad by dates between what is an upswing and a downswing. Take that the Red Sox are 49-31 in their last 80 games. It means what exactly? They are playing better now, but they also were god awful for way too many games to open the season. Beni is great now, not so great 5 games ago. Overall, that's why Devers, Bogie, EROD and Workman have been pretty damn outstanding because they have the overall numbers to prove it.
  23. What's scary is how good the offense is overall in terms of all the HR, doubles, runs scored, etc compared to the dead-ball era teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of those teams were just awful in comparison to the 1999 to present teams. Game has changed, hitters are either using designer drugs or the balls are juiced, or both.
