  1. I saw the posts. Absolutely zero verification, just one person claiming it was during a game. The pic is of him in a red sweatshirt. I doubt it was actually during the game. Do you believe everything someone says on twitter?
  2. This is a good point Moon. It made look at away team stats. I didn't realize how much of a pitchers park Houston is. They are actually one of the best hitting teams and one of the worst pitching teams. 3.17 home ERA vs 5.00 road ERA, tied with the redsox for runs on the road. It also highlights that Dallas Keuchel did not deserve the Cy Young last year. He did have 20 wins, but a 2 run difference between his home and road ERA.
  3. I hope not as that would mean they needed him to pitch the last game.
  4. Agreed. Even if they don't make the playoffs they have an opportunity to seriously f up the sox chances, i.e. let the Jays and Orioles walk all over them and beat up on the sox.
  5. Are you joking or did you mean Pablo?
  6. More importantly, how's your golf game this September?
  7. I agree with all that. I just saw his name in enough of your posts that I misinterpreted that as some level of confidence that he will be useful.
  8. His arm is very impressive. I can't understand why he was a second baseman, basically letting that tool go to waste.
  9. Hey Moon, you seem pretty convinced that Pablo will be a big part of the team next year. Where is this coming from? I can see giving him a chance, but it's a long shot.
  10. Those last 2 road trips were huge. A lot of people looked at that stretch before the season even started as being key. The sox went 13-7 combined.
  11. I agree. I don't want him traded. His defense would be undervalued in a trade.
  12. with the name "redsuxlastchance"? Yeah, odds are pretty good it's a troll.
  13. This is true, just like the yankees being + 17 games over 4 years means they won 52.9% of their games compared to the expected 50.2%.
  14. 17 wins variation out of 332 total wins is a reasonable statistical variation.
  15. No kidding. Sanchez didn't have that great a game either, I guess the Blue Jays should try to get Owens too.
  16. I think he's been fine for the most part, but I agree with the OP that he needs to learn how to stretch. Check out the play that ended ERod's no hitter. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1136258383/bosoak-rodriguez-allows-first-hit-to-semien-in-8th/?query=eduardo%2Brodriguez If Hanley put his right foot on the bag and stretched that would have been an out. That's little league stuff.
  17. Conversely, we have outscored the other team and lost a series once. When you consider that we have outscore the other teams far more than being outscored, the ratios are in our favor.
  18. I wanted to defend the sox by saying at least one of those they were going to lose the game anyway since on Sunday it would have been 2nd and 3rd with noone out without the error. Then I looked at the fielding stats. The sox have made 69 errors, so I would guess roughly 35 came on the road. Of those they made 4 errrors in the last inning of a tie game, that's not good.
  19. A large part of this is that the sox are seldom outscored in a series. So another way to look at it is 1 out of the 5 times we were outscored we won the series anyway. 1 out of 13 times we outscored the opponents we lost the series.
  20. I agree. I don't understand why you would have a guy with an arm like that playing 2nd.
  21. Are you going to vote?
  22. He's not a rookie.
  23. I can't help but remember his last game with the sox. With all that went wrong in September 2011, if Pap had saved that last game it would have guaranteed a 1 game playoff at least.
  24. By the way, smart move to make a new account so you can start a thread without the fear of any black marks against your other account.
  25. I also remember Francona getting destroyed by the fans for continuing to play Bellhorn after his horrible ALDS. The sox probably wouldn't have beat the Yankees that year without Bellhorn.
