    I don’t blame Sox management for not matching such a stupid contract ! 11 years WTF. The back end of that contract will likely be awful. I do blame them for missing the opportunity last off season, which they blew with a comical offer of an additional 30 million on his existing contract.

    My frustration with Bloom is that he always seems to want to “win” the deal, as opposed to making sure he gets his man. This leads to a lot of swing and miss in his style. By comparison DD often over paid but got his man .

    If the Sox keep Kike and follow through on their desire to get more HRs from the outfield, I can definitely see them trading Verdugo, and replaced him with an outfielder with more pop.

    Whilst the Red Sox have given it their best, I believe they are going to have to settle for 2nd worst bullpen ERA (4.55) for the season behind KC (4.7) in the American League.

    Nice grand slam by Devers, but a grand slam does not make me forget his lousy hitting since the all star break.
