  1. I think you overvalue what it will cost to get 2 months of Josh Bell…
  2. I’m glad you’re not our GM….
  3. There were a decent amount there yesterday…
  4. The Red Sox if they dealt Bogaerts, for one…
  5. Actually, what’s your point? The Sox are alive and doing well in the post season picture RIGHT NOW. While GMs do have to look towards “next season” all the time, and especially this time of year, that doesn’t mean they ignore the present…
  6. I’m not quite with you on Cordero, who looks like a bench bat/strong side platoon OF to me. He’d probably be better in CF than he’s been at 1b. I suspect Josh Bell/Jesus Aguilar/short term rental to be there by the end of the month…
  7. Robertson is fine. Ditto Michael Fulmer. Both will be on multiple radars…
  8. Teams trade for unproven players every July. In fact, nearly every deadline deal involves at least one. Last year the Sox bulked up the pen and got a premier bat while giving up Aldo Ramirez, Alex Scherff, and Michael Chavis. Are we pretending those were elite established players?
  9. Since May1, Robles has 1 save, 3 holds and 5 blown saves. That’s as unreliable as it gets for an alleged MLB reliever. And yesterday’s blown save came in one of the easiest opportunities any reliever will ever see…
  10. So your argument is he’s “unproductive” but he still can be dealt for elite prospects? Explain…
  11. He wasn’t “nails” in Philadelphia…
  12. If the price is a 23yo A ball third sacker having a career year, it’s worth seeing if it’s the “real Robertson.” And truth be told, it doesn’t have to be. As long as he’s an improvement over Robles and Barnes, it’s worthwhile…
  13. Because we’re in the playoff hunt and his “unproductive” stretch is all of two weeks. But let me guess - now that the Sox lost to a bad Cubs’ team, you think they’re clearly not going anywhere. The 43 wins were the outlier; yesterday was the real Sox team…
  14. But if the Sox acquire one good reliever plus move Whitlock to the bullpen, the situation improved drastically, unless they also pull out relievers to fill the rotation. But a pen of Robertson, Houck, Whitlock, Schreiber, Davis, Strahm, Diekman, and Brasier is a huge step up. (I’d DFA Barnes and Robles today, but I doubt Bloom does.)
  15. BTV gives Robertson a surplus value of 0.7, which makes him equal to many Sox prospects, none of whom are very exciting. Nick Northcut (0.8) is probably the most intriguing game based on 2022 numbers…
  16. Possibly the dumbest theory out here. Even if the Cubs sweep the Sox, the Sox are still in the playoff picture..
  17. Robles was handed a pathetically easy situation today. Protect a 2 run lead by getting 3 outs from the 7-8-9 hitters from one of, if not the worst lineups in MLB today. Outside of mop up work, that’s one of the easiest assignments a pitcher can get. And two outs later, Robles was removed from a tie game with the bases loaded. He’s just not an MLB pitcher right now…
  18. You don’t miss much. Cora lobbed his Bullpen Grenade Crew into action…
  19. Again, the Sox still have the sixth highest payroll in MLB. What’s his complaint? That anything below top five is basically the Pirates?!?? Just because they didn’t spend that money where you wanted it spent doesn’t mean it doesn’t count. If you don’t like the Sox current payroll situation, a lot of that is on the guy who ran up the quarter billion dollar bar tab…
  20. Cora clearly hates Red Sox Nation. All of us. He hates us all with a passion. My evidence is how often he lets Robles pitch…
  21. The Sox are not going to unnecessarily deplete bullpen depth. Even Bracchio wasn’t dealt until after a DFA due to him having no options left. I could see Danish, who has options, getting demoted. I could see Robles getting DFAd followed by a demotion or a minor league deal (again). In fact, I hope he gets DFAd…
  22. I think neither happen…
  23. And they should be booted from Little League and banned for life. If you don’t let kids make mistakes, they never learn how to prevent them….
