  1. He’s not likely to see the lineup too much more with Duvall back. Now he did at least make himself look like a Major Leaguer this year, a nice bump up from whatever he was last year…
  2. That Dombrowski couldn’t get it done. Next question…
  3. Apparently he was DFAd to make room for Duvall. I am wondering if the only reason he started was to line up Whitlock for game one of the Yankee series…
  4. I’d have preferred they kept him over Kluber…
  5. Fairly certain Cora wants to get fired. I’m ok if that happens. Why did he bring in the mop up guy into a one run game? Kluber is a guy you bring in when the score is already 8-2, not because you want a 3-2 game to become 8-2…
  6. Please tell me that quote is made up. Finding holes? Yeah Ramirez noticed a weak spot in the Sox outfield in that they couldn’t cover the right center field bleacher seats…
  7. Sure he is. Bloom traded Renfroe for him…
  8. DFA Kluber. I’d rather see them keep Dermody…
  9. Why was he brought in? Nick Pivetta hasn’t pitched this series.
  10. A poodle with rabies and a spear gun!!
  11. I think he blocked my texts…
  12. Demote Valdez. Promote Hamilton…
  13. Actually the Betts trade has worked out pretty well considering the Sox were never going to be able to sign him and they acquired two starters…
  14. The idea that the Sox let a few 30 something (and in a couple cases, very injury-prone) free agents go and they got hot elsewhere is hardly Bloom’s biggest mistake. This whole Hamilton situation is just ridiculous. Hamilton gets protected over Ward, probably the Sox most MLB-ready pitching prospect before the season. Not only do we see far too many games of Hernandez flummoxing around the infield, but Hamilton - whom it was so important to keep - tears up AAA and is left there in the minors. Meanwhile, the Sox keep trotting out Enmanuel Valdez and his specially designed glove with 5 thumbs and keep leaving Kike at SS. And then because Ward is in Washington, trot out a 32yo career minor league/multiple Asian league veteran with an 88mph fastball to join the rotation. Letting go of aging players who go on a hot streak can be just bad luck. But the promotions and non-promotions on this team are the real questionable moves…
  15. Then he should have protected Ward instead!!!!
  16. Then I’ll only deduct one point…
  17. I don’t even think he’s the answer. But he’s probably an improvement and easily available. Demote Valdez. Bump Kike to 2nd. And let Hamilton try SS.
  18. I think we all recall the details…
  19. I’ve seen 3 different spellings of Dermody today. None of them are correct…
  20. Or called up Hamilton. The guy was protected over Thad Ward and has crushed AAA pitching this year. He’s a gamble and I could understand if they had to DFA someone to try him. But that’s not the case…
  21. Traded for Wil Cordero, the Enmanuel Valdez of the 1990’s, but with off field issues…
  22. Kevin Newman is a good defensive SS sitting on the bench in Cincy making $2.6mill. He’s not much of as hitter, but him at SS and Hernandez shifting over to 2b would be an upgrade. BTV accepted Dalbec for Newman, which actually does make some sense for Cincinnati, as they’re near the bottom of the league in fWAR from a 1b. Certainly Dalbec won’t vault them to the middle of the pack, but he can help them by hitting LHP and by not making any money…
  23. If I do,, neither of them have much money and both of them are somewhat indigestible…
  24. Offerman did excel at OBP in an era where no one looked at OBP. Defensively he was a huge question mark unless playing 1b. The biggest issue I remember about Offerman at the time was that shortly after, Roberto Alomar signed for only a little more…
  25. Well, he is in the process of proving them all wrong. But 5 weeks ago, he was in the process of proving them all correct…
