  1. If you think Duran is not good enough defensively for left field, it is entirely possible your expectations are not realistic…
  2. Really just the 40 man roster spot. But Refsnyder is not the top name that needs to go where all the Sox get back is a 40 man roster spot…
  3. I don’t mind leaving him in Worcester. Getting just one viable player for two months of Vazquez is more than worthwhile…
  4. He’s a role player with one legitimate baseball skill. He’s still under contract for next year and his limited skilllset doesn’t exactly scream trade bait…
  5. Sorry, moon, but this line is funny…
  6. If Refsnyder is your DH, you did some bad GMing…
  7. Valdez’ best position might be in Worcester…
  8. And sometimes yours are proof of a small number simply flinging poop;)
  9. He must be superhuman to do all that all by himself!!
  10. They bought some golf stuff. The kind of thing every sports managing and marketing business does…
  11. It’s better than advertised. And it was advertised quite well…
  12. Oh good. John Henry sent us a spokesman…
  13. Plenty of managers can win with the right players. Cora is fairly fungible sa manager…
  14. Well, disappointment is relative to expectations. What were his expectations with Bloom running the team? If Henry was fine with a long game to build the farm and make a competitive team like Houston has done, he might have expected years like this and figures then to be part of the process. That doesn’t make it easier on us, but it certainly explains a lot of Bloom isn’t fired..
  15. If Bloom is fired, I do think it will be before the postseason begins. But the biggest factor is whether or not Henry is actually disappointed in the job he’s doing so far…
  16. Senga was really just a wild card. I’m sure the Sox knew a lot more about him than me. Eflin reportedly really wanted to be back home in Florida. The Sox didn’t even get outbid; they got matched and Eflin apparently immediately accepted. Bringing back Eovaldi was the bigger opportunity that was missed, because he wasn’t using the Sox to set his value…
  17. I was OK with the Kluber signing. Still am. The problem was that Plan B seemed to be to just Bloom shrugging his shoulders and hoping things get better on their own…
  18. Who? I think the consensus was “maybe, if Sale holds up”…
  19. Not bringing in Mondesi does allow you to upgrade from Kluber to Mike Clevinger or Noah Syndergaard…
  20. Even at $80/4, it’s not horrible…
  21. So you think Jordan Montgomery only get 1 year / $10mill? I’m thinking 4 years $75-80mill. He fits into that Taijuan Walker/Jameson Taillon mold…
  22. Do they know I’m available?
  23. The whole “getting injured pitchers back” so no other improvements are needed was just awful. I mean 1. We’re supposed to count on a bunch of pitchers who already got injured once? 2. What happens if they’re not full strength?
  24. Signing Bad free agents of going to happen with every GM. Perez and Richards turned out to be duds in 2021, but the team still made it to the ALCS. The big difference was that team actually added MLB caliber pitchers to the roster midseason. Not good pitchers, but at least they were guys good enough to last an entire season in MLB. Bloom hasn’t added a pitcher to this team mid season since Unless that pitcher was DFAd…
  25. That sentence did read like it had been translated from German to English by someone who only spoke Korean…
