I can see teams being hesitant to take on the $7mill or so of JD regardless of the asking price in return. If Bloom really wanted to get under, Bogaerts would have been the smarter chip to deal. Even 5 months after the deadline, the best JD was able to get was a one year $10mill contract. If no one wanted him for more than $10 mill for a full season, it stands to reason that interest in him at $7mill for two months was not all that high.
Bogaerts on the other hand would have been easily movable…
