    I’d say there are scenarios. The Red Sox don’t pay out big anymore, but that puts them on the longer list than if they were willing to splurge once in a while. I just don’t see Pivetta really attracting the interest of the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, Astros or Phillies or any team that spend like those teams. Just like how Giolito didn’t this year…

    It’s not about what DD was allowed to do then. It’s about what he’d be allowed to do now. Henry went with Bloom because he wanted to stop the heavy spending and build from within. DD does actually have a part where he did things like that, and for Henry, no less. So if Henry did keep DD on board, he’d have to operate within the same budget Bloom did, and not the one he has in Philly…
