  1. You think DD is going to hold a prospect? Especially one that plays a position a DD contract is blocking for the next 8 years?
  2. I suppose Philly could substitute 19yo CF Griffin Burkholder. Milwaukee deal could include a minor enticement like Jedixson Paez or Yordanny Monegro…
  3. I just don’t see the A’s taking on 6 players who will all require 40 man roster spots at some point while only giving up 3…
  4. Boston returns INF David Hamilton to Milwaukee for 1b Rhys Hoskins and the remainder of his contract. Hamilton pushes Platinum Glove winner Brice Turang back to SS and Joey Ortiz back to third since he’s clearly a bad shortstop. Boston sends Jarren Duran to Philly for RHSP Mick Abel. Philly sends SS prospect Aiden Miller to Pittsburgh, who sends SP Mitch Keller and his remaining $60+ million to Boston to complete the deal. BTV calls this deal a fair trade. Abel joins Fitts and Harrison in Worcester where they all vie to replace Walker Buehler in the rotation. Nate Eaton gets DFAd to clear a roster spot for Abel. C: Carlos Narvaez ($0.80M) 1B: Rhys Hoskins ($18.00M) 2B: Marcello Mayer ($0.80M) 3B: Alex Bregman ($25.00M) SS: Trevor Story ($22.50M) LF: Roman Anthony ($0.80M) CF: Ceddanne Rafaela ($1.25M) RF: Wilyer Abreu ($0.80M) DH: Masataka Yoshida ($18.60M) 4th OF: Rob Refsnyder ($2.25M) Utility: Abraham Toro ($0.80M) Utility: Romy Gonzalez ($0.80M) Backup C: Connor Wong ($0.80M) SP1: Mitch Keller ($15.4M) SP2: Walker Buehler ($21.05M) SP3: Brayan Bello ($2.66M) SP4: Garrett Crochet ($3.80M) SP5: Lucas Giolito ($19.00M) RP: Liam Hendricks ($6.00M) RP: Aroldis Chapman ($10.75M) RP: Garrett Whitlock ($5.50M) RP: Justin Wilson ($2.25M) RP: Greg Weissert ($0.80M) RP: Jordan Hicks ($12.50M) RP: Tanner Houck ($4.5M) RP: Brennan Bernardino ($0.80M) Payroll is 17.41% under budget
  5. True, but he kept both players.. If Story gets benched for Campbell, thats on Cora. Or Story…
  6. So you’d decline Peralta’s $8mill team option for 2026? Also, you wouldn’t give up the Password for Pivetta?
  7. And now he’s getting used to facing a bunch of new hard-throwing arms he’s only faced a very limited number of times, if any, before…
  8. While a valid point, on its own, it’s still a terrible song. Easily separated from the brilliance of Surrealistic Pillow…
  9. Wellllll… Toro has a .514 OPS over the past 15 games. It was much lower, but a couple recent hits catapulted it back up. Toro is a bench player. The Sox would probably do better if they pushed him back there…
  10. Outliers exist in all sample sizes. The real problem with my example is 5Gold and I need to make more cash…
  11. You’re right. He’s an excellent candidate so far…
  12. Agreed. I think they will be Comeback award too often goes to a breakout player, as opposed to a player reverting to superior performance after a prolonged career slide. Justin Wilson is the clear Red Sox candidate. And if he keeps it up, he should be considered for the AL Award (which he will never win)…
  13. I disagree. First of all, they’ve been struggling to land nine figure free agents for some reason. Not sure why. Maybe Rice-A-Roni is less popular than I thought. Second, he said he will be a 1b/DH there and do so happily. Possibly even whistling all the while. His game really only had two glaring flaws - very weak defense at 3b and refusing to move off 3b. Sounds like he has finally fixed them both..
  14. Overall, I think they will be happy with the trade. I just hope Boston is as well…
  15. It is definitely one of those times where average is a misleading standalone stat. Which I find to be true most of the time. I mean, me, you, and Bill Gates have an average net worth of $39billion. Does that make you feel better about your current financial situation? (I am assuming in this example, you are NOT. a multibillionaire. Not more than $3billion, at least…)
  16. He started out slow in Boston this year too. Even slower than that in fact…
  17. Because they’re evil!
  18. I don’t think so. If moving Sale was about going cheap, they had a chance to move his entire contract to Texas. But the return would have been negligible, per the rumor. That they paid up to get a player they wanted instead was a good idea, right? It looked to me as though they tried to not only fill the vacancy Sale frequently left in the rotation, but also a glaring hole at 2b. It clearly went wrong in every direction, but that doesn’t make it about “going cheap,” especially considering the minimal reduction in payroll…
  19. Decades? No. Sale was the worst trade since 2020. Thats as far back as I can go…
  20. No mention of Ceddane Rafaela? His 2.8 bWAR trails only Crochet (3.7) and Bregman (2.9)…
  21. Five years max. Anyone arguing 5 is too many probably has a case, too…
