  1. Good idea. That way Cora can save his day off for when he’s healthy.
  2. Obviously you put Yoshida in LF in the park with the deepest LF down the line, no foul territory and brick walls that use ivy as a safety feature. This ought to clear up that OF/DH depth problem…
  3. And both starters had rough first innings but then pitched very well. For Giolito to give up 3 ER three batters into the game but then only 1 ER over the next 5.1 IP Bello, too. Started the game with back to back HRs. Then gave up 4 H and one walk while getting 18 outs. Neither looked bad after a rough start. And neither was the problem…
  4. Not Abraham Toro, whose OPS vs LHP is worse than Abreu’s.
  5. It also takes the onus off him. I mean, why does he never say “I’ve got to manage better?” Letting Wong with 2 men on in a 3 run game is just negligent…
  6. It did help Imanaga he was largely facing a B team lineup due to some bizarre strategy involving not letting left-handed hitters face left-handed pitchers…
  7. So glad to go to this game and see Refsnyder and Romy and Toro and Wong ALL IN THE SAME LINEUP!!
  8. You clearly mentioned Campbell. (See below.) If you meant Meidroth, don’t blame us.
  9. I’m just hoping there’s a game to go to. I do want to see Imanaga pitch, but he did shut down Boston last year to one run over 7 innings. And that run came on a home run from a guy no longer with Boston…
  10. Think so? Without Steele, I think their rotation is ok but they have no depth.. If we had Daniel Palencia closing, fans would want an upgrade. And their starting 3b has an OPS+ over 20 points lower than Campbell got demoted with. Oh, and their bench is useless. On the other hand, an elite defense. If every starter got nominated for a Gold Glove, it would not surprise me. (And I will be surprised for every one that doesn’t except Carson Kelly.) They have 2 legitimate and one dark horse MVP candidates. And Counsell seems to be a good manager.
  11. You’re really going with her worst movie here, Satanica Pandemonium?
  12. Why? Will this stretch change the numbers I gave? I never said the offense was perfect or even good. But to call it anemic when they scored 92 runs in a 13 game stretch certainly raises questions about what was expected…
  13. Bad thunderstorms expected this afternoon in Chicago. But they’re expected to be done by first pitch…
  14. Last year the first 3 games out of the break were in LA. One game the Sox blew an 8th inning lead, one game they blew a 2 run lead in extra innings. (One of those 2 games ended on a Freeman walk off grand slam. I forget which one.) And then in the last game of that series, Kutter Crawford started his collapse, surrendering home runs to everyone in LA except Selma Hayek. Lets not repeat that…
  15. Well, what you are talking about with this “anemic offense” seems pretty unsupported beyond my comment. Were you referring to “only” scoring 14 runs in the 4 game Tampa series? Or the 29 runs in 3 games against Colorado? The 27 runs in 3 games against Washington? Or the mere 22 runs in 3 games against Cincinnati? Or were you using the phrase “of late” to mean something entirely different than is generally accepted?
  16. So 2 months of Josh Naylor would cost Campbell, Casas and another? But 5+ years of minimum wage Nick Kurtz can be had for Abreu, Jordan and an A ball shortstop?
  17. Unlike A-Rod, who can literally pull a kid out of the path of a speeding bus, and then instead of accolades is the subject of stories about how he set it up
  18. Trout wasn’t dipping into his personal collection for some kid…
