    Of course it’s Dalbec. Sorry to leave you hanging, but then you know the Sox minor leaguers better than I do. Dalbec has already made an impression with his defense. While he certainly doesn’t make your man-crush Devers expendable, he might be able to give the Sox an opportunity to deal Devers to fill another void or two. This scenario is unlikely during the current season...

    So Poyner, who was one of those young stars many wanted on the postseason roster instead of Kelly, is now on the outs after facing one hitter???!!? I think sometimes people are a bit too desperate to replace the current players with the youngsters on the farm.

    The only injuries some people respect are breaks and tears. You could have a guy out there with his femur sticking out of his skin fully exposed, and some poster would be yelling at him “Get back out there, you wimp!! I can see with my own eyes it ain’t broken!!! Nothing a little cortisone won’t fix!!”

    Ah the justification of “upside.” Along with “potential,” upside will break your heart more often than not. Devers is one of the few Sox starters who not only has trade value, but also has a ready replacement. And one who can actually play third base. The “trade Bradley” threads always miss the point. So Bradley (in your mind) sucks and needs to go. What do you think you get in a trade for someone like that? And please spare me the “Bradley isn’t right for this team arguments as well. Bradley is good. Sure his offense is unreliable, but this team is supposed to have some reliable hitters to pick up the slack. Rather than calling out the Gold Glive CF who uses defense to keep the game close, where are the gripes about the 0HR/3RBI “slugging” third baseman and the reigning MVP with 101 OPS+? You know, the guys who are supposed to be hitting?

    I think he’s awesome, regardless of the hitting. I’d love to see the Sox extend him, but I think it’s not very likely despite the dearth of OF talent in the system right now...

    I will never understand the logic of “ this player sucks!! The Sox need to trade him!!” Do we really think other GMs won’t know he sucks? Or do you just want to trade him for different players who suck?

    That pop culture reference is actually so old now, two of the three then-active players are in Cooperstown and the third has been kept out multiple times for steroid usage. Might as well be asking “where’s the beef?!!?”
