If you expect 3 impact players per year from your farm, that’s probably way too high of an expectation. Especially since many impact players aren’t immediate impact players. Really in large markets, you just need the farm to hold the fort for minimum wage at first. If they develop into a player’s who are worth paying heavily, even better

Now who’s kidding? 3 per year is a joke. The Sox called up at least four players for MLB debut this year alone (Chavis, Shawaryn, Lakins, Kelley). 3 per season is not a lot...

But you’re wrong. First off, the definition of the word “ever” is “at all times,” and is not limited to the present. And second, as you made your original statement in 2019, both 1996 and 1997 would be considered the past anyway. By your argument, saying “Abraham Lincoln was the most recent US President” is a true statement since it was phrased in the past tense. And hey, in reality it was only negated by future events. But is it true?

And it's also why you need a farm system with good players who don't make any money and why it is unwise to unload them all for highly paid players...

And while his peripherals are worse, the changes aren’t exactly catastrophic. His walks are up by .2BB/9IP, or 1 walk for every 45 innings. His strikeouts are down by 0.7K/9IP, or 7 strikeouts per 90IP. His WHIP is up by 0.035, or 7 baserunners per 200 IP. I’ll take all of that considering he stayed healthy all year for once and finally had a season where he should finish close to 200 IP. Also, he’s still only 26...

There are a few ball sizes, but I’m guessing you mean 12 inch. I’m in Chicago, where all the slow pitch leagues are 16 inch and no one uses gloves. Guessing your league differs on both counts...
