  1. I don’t think that package gets you anywhere near Clevinger, even if the prospect is Casas or Downs...
  2. 2b is a team need, although they may go short term. I like Jonathan Schoop, who always seems to get1 year deals...
  3. Arauz can go to Pawtucket next season. He’s not so remarkable s to hand him 2b...
  4. Not true. I would not trade my dog...
  5. Are you sure Bloom didn’t try?
  6. 2021 depends heavily on Sale and ERod. Moreland has been good, but he’s hardly irreplaceable...
  7. Teams are typically reticent in dealing good pitching prospects. I’m not surprised if Moreland was unable to get one back
  8. What if the Sox followed up by dealing Bradley or Pillar to Milwaukee for Omar Narvaez? The Brewers have no center fielders on the roster and have been using Avisail Garcia in CF...
  9. You’re always safe betting against any trade rumor. But if it doesn’t happen, it will probably be more related to Bloom’s demands exceeding Tampa’s generosity. I don’t think Tampa is looking at Vazquez and thinking “he’s not what we want. Let’s get him!” If Bloom is willing to take back Kiermaier (whose expensive contract he wrote), Tampa might be very willing to talk...
  10. No good third team candidates...
  11. How about the Dodgers got the best fish-named player ever?
  12. Or wrong!! (Wrong for the other team, that is,)
  13. Per MLBTR, the Rays have expressed interest in Vazquez
  14. If Tampa (or any team) had a catcher who could play in 2021, why would they deal for Vazquez? Sox would need to get a catcher in another deal...
  15. Baseballtradevalues.com accepted the following trade: Tampa gets: Christian Vazquez, Jackie Bradley Boston gets: Shane Baz, Brent Honeywell, Kevin Kiermaier, Mike Zunino Zunino ($4.5 mill) and Bradley ($11mill)are both expiring contracts that balance some money but hopefully don’t push Boston over the tax limit. Taking Kiermaier replaces Bradley and saves Tampa $25.6 mill in 2021 and 2022 (minus the money taken back). And the Sox get two elite pitching prospects, although Honeywell has legitimate injury concerns...
  16. ... and it sounds like Mookie was never coming back to Boston anyway.
  17. The infamous baseballtradevalues.com does accept a trade of Christian Vazquez to Tampa for Shane Baz (BA#71 this year)...
  18. There, there...
  19. Whether you like it or not, they’ll move homegrown players in the right deal...
  20. Eh. Why do we need a top 5 catcher with no pitching staff in sight?
  21. Most teams have already passed on Valdez and Osich once. Doubtful they can play a big enough part in any trade to matter either way. Brasier can go, too. I stopped like him after 2018...
  22. From this year's pitching staff, the only pitcher I would want back next year is Hernandez. But I expect Eovaldi back, and Perez is 50/50. Barnes is most likely dealt within a few days (otherwise he would be my second pitcher I'd want back). Beyond that? Osich and Valdez have been tolerable. Brasier is probably back. Walden is probably back, but he's not the lock I would have suspected. Taylor? I'd trade him if I thought anyone would give me anything The rest? Cut. Weber, Mazza, Hart, Brewer, Springs, Hall, Covey, and Stock cannot go fast enough IMO...
  23. This might increase their interest in Moreland...
  24. Oh please. You know I meant historically. But if you like, name dozen prospects worth promoting...
  25. Well, as long as they were on the 40 man roster...
