    I’ve posted my top 4 numerous times in the past 6 weeks. And no matter what happens, I am NOT changing them, despite how questionable they have always looked. I had 1. Leiter 2. Lawler 3. Davis 4. Rocker Of course, now Marcelo Mayer, in an obvious attempt to discredit me, has come out with some underslot demands to increase his already lofty appeal. Too bad, Marcelo!! I’m NOT moving you up!! You can’t intimidate me!!

    As I didn’t watch SportsCenter last night, was yesterday the first time in MLB history where two teams put up 7 runs in the first inning and both lost? The Cubs also jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the Brewers after 1 and then gave up 15 unanswered runs…

    Possibly true. I’m just saying if he was using, I’d let him go back to it for safety reasons. Anyone who throws 105mph should be allowed to do everything possible to control that lethal object.     Cordero’s limited playing time has been a combination of injuries and a lot of competition in a crowded San Diego outfield. Also, if Dalbec has promise, Cordero is only 9 months older. Franchy probably isn’t the answer at 1b, but the main reason the Sox might give him a try is simple - he’s already here…

    He started 104 games in 2018 and 100 games in 2019. I can see an argument or him being a starter regardless of his usage. But the more important factor is - he’s a starter now, also regardless of his previous usage. Whether or not another team used him in a different capacity isn’t a reason to promote Duran…

    I do agree with that point and think it often gets overlooked. I don’t think this is a case of the Sox rushing the 24yo Duran. But I do suspect either his defense or the lack of a clear role are bigger factors. Especially once Arroyo returns…

    The leadoff problem is on Cora. Why he keeps insisting on sub-.300 OBP hitters in the role is beyond me. As he already has better options (starting with Verdugo) I’m not sure he sees Duran as the solution. He might, but it wouldn’t surprise if it also changed nothing atop the lineup. I see two possibilities about why Duran is still in Worcester. 1) Someone is not happy with his defense, and 2) there’s no real path to playing time if everyone is healthy. I don’t think they want him in a part time role, even as a strong side of a platoon. In fact, it’s possible the guy keeping him down is the resurgent Renfroe. We all assumed Renfroe was acquired to be a weak side platoon with Benintendi, and then to be a weak side platoon with Cordero. But he’s established himself as a full time starter. If everyone is healthy, this fills the OF (with Verdugo and Kike) and leaves no real path to playing time for Duran…

    I don't think he gets called up unless it is to be an everyday player. If they just need a part time sub to improve on Santana, then both Marcus Wilson and (especially) Franchy Cordero are more likely...

    Maybe Duran has surpassed Franchy Cordero in the promotion pecking order. Maybe. But even then, Cordero is the one on the 40 man roster...

    A lot of more or as highly touted rookies, including Luis Campusano (.272), Jarren Kelenic (.378), Christian Pache (.358), Taylor Trammell (.643), Wander Franco (.598), Andy Vaughn (.700), and Alex Kirilloff (.738) have not exactly hit the ground running. It doesn't mean Duran will struggle, but it certainly means there is a chance he will...

    Not sure why you’re taking this so personal. Duran’s promotion isn’t determined by a forum poll and isn’t subject to message board approval. Whether we agree or not, ONE GUY makes that call. And right now, that guy is saying to wait a bit longer. Also, are most people saying “don’t bring up Duran”? It seems like some are saying “maybe this is why they haven’t brought up Duran.” There’s a big difference. I have no clue why they haven’t brought him up. I’ve had my share of reservations about him, but I’ve seen plenty of lesser players get promoted. Relax. He’s not likely to play in Worcester all season. Of course, he’s also not likely to be the panacea many think right off the bat, either…
