  1. Agree, but dmoney is the prototype of a nattering nabob of negativism. He’s simply not happy unless he’s not happy.
  2. 85 pitches through 5 will do that.
  3. Nah, just copy and paste.
  4. 30 was through 2 innings; he's at 47 through 3. Your point holds though, 5 might be it again tonight.
  5. Maybe, but both he and Wil Fleming have no problem calling out bad play by the Sox, unlike their TV counterparts.
  6. Through early morning fog I see Visions of the things to be The pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see That suicide is painless It brings on many changes And I can take or leave it If I please The game of life is hard to play I'm gonna lose it anyway The losing card I'll someday lay So this is all I have to say Suicide is painless (suicide) It brings on many changes And I can take or leave it If I please The sword of time will pierce our skins It doesn't hurt when it begins But as it works its way on in The pain grows stronger, watch it grin Suicide is painless It brings on many changes And I can take or leave it If I please A brave man once requested me To answer questions that are key "Is it to be or not to be?" And I replied, "Oh, why ask me?" Suicide is painless It brings on many changes And I can take or leave it If I please And you can do the same thing If you please
  7. Well to be fair, Joe C said pretty much the same thing on the radio. However, one is going to Cooperstown, the other will have to buy a ticket.
  8. Radio guys said Romy is in a splint after diving after a ball last night. When it rains ...
  9. Radio guys say its the shoulder. With the temp around 50 and damp, might just be precautionary. Unless he takes some time off, its not going to get better
  10. Nice play by Gonzalez to save a run there.
  11. The two catchers did pretty well at it last year when they were called on to do it. But overall you’re right. This is where they need to do it in the minors. Since every one of them was the best player on their amateur teams, they werent going to learn growing up.
  12. I thought it was George Herman Betts. But yeah, I forgot about that parallel.
  13. Unfortunately, history seems to be repeating itself. The Sox won 5 titles between 1903 and 1918. They would not have a .500 season again until 1934. They haven’t been quite as bad as that since 2018, but still …
  14. The OP never has quite gotten that concept.
  15. Davis is also 24 (will be 25 before the end of the season) and played 3 years of relatively high level college ball at Louisville (probably equivalent to Rookie or Low-A). Mayer just turned 22 and came directly of if HS.
  16. On top of all this, SiriusXM has lost the Red Sox broadcast and I have to listen to the Angels crew.
  17. Doesn’t matter guys; his mind is made up. No amount of contrary data or facts will change it.
  18. 1) Neither were the 62 Mets, but they still won 40 games. 2) Style points don’t matter in pro sports 3) Wood has been a decent pitcher over the course of his 12 year career. Not great, but very serviceable. You don’t stick around 12 years as a starter if you completely suck. 4) A’s have a couple big arms in that they used in the 8th-10th. 100+ is nothing to sneeze at even if the pitcher is on a bad team. Not every player on a bad team is terrible.
  19. Wood’s been an okay pitcher over his 12 year career; sub 4 ERA careerwise. Not a shock he’s come back with a decent outing after his horrible first start. Hopefully, the Sox can get to the A’s pen.
  20. No one may be happier for the A’s to leave Oakland than Bello. In 2 games there totalling 7 innings, he has allowed 5 two run homers at the Coliseum.
  21. Uecker is still with us, though he’s now 90 years old. He’s going to call the Brewers’ home opener tomorrow (4/2).
  22. He didn’t pitch last night. Got to be something else.
  23. That was on Yoshida getting a terrible break off 3rd. Rafaela did what he was supposed to do, which was to get in a rundown to get the runner home. I didn’t like the play because they had Castillo on the ropes, but it was not a mistake by Ceddane.
  24. 2 years, $62M Bonuses if there’s deferred money or not.
