  1. Would it have mattered?
  2. Well Covey may suck against everyone else but he has been kryptonite against the Sox
  3. He also can’t possibly pitch any better than he did that night. It was by far his best career outing. Edit - as the Sox get 2 hits while I’m typing this.
  4. Covey is going to come out for the White Sox. He’s the guy who beat Sale 1-0 in Boston in the first Chisox series.
  5. Tells me that they are not expecting Judge back anytime soon.
  6. Sometimes it’s the hitter; Palko’s a good young hitter.
  7. So since “we have more talent” than every other team in baseball, the Red Sox should be an undefeated?
  8. This kid has a ton of movement on all of his pitches tonight.
  9. I said the first time they met in Boston, the White Sox have a decent amount of young talent that would probably get better as the year went on. I was scoffed at. Yet it is exactly what is exactly what has happened post ASB.
  10. Actually, he struck him out. Ball 2 was an easy strike call that Barret didn’t call.
  11. Even the White Sox announcers are commenting on Barret’s strike zone.
  12. They also are playing pretty well right now, they are 11-4 over the past couple weeks.
  13. Given how much the pen had to be used the last 2 games and will likely be needed the next couple games, Porcello may just have to take the pounding, especially if the offense does nothing. He knows the deal.
  14. Two of those hits were very soft.
  15. Per the strike zone on the White Sox broadcast, Garcia should have been called out on 3 pitches. Porcello is going to have a really tough time if he can’t get strikes in the bottom 3-4 inches of the strike zone.
  16. I think it’s Porcello tomorrow, Eovaldi Friday, ERod Saturday and Johnson Sunday. Monday in Atlanta, who knows?
  17. Pale Hose took 2 of 3 from the Carmines (channeling my inner Hawk here) earlier this year.
  18. Yeah, I know. Just curious how that would be considered in, say, Baseball Reference. They do splits on everything, including by position. But the second time up, Swihart didn't have a position yet since he hadn't taken the field. I suppose if I remember, I could look tomorrow at Swiahrts splits and see what they list.
  19. I still think he's going to miss a couple starts. That's going to swell up, and there's no sense pushing it.
  20. Swihart had 2 hits in the 7th. Anyone know if that goes down as a pair of pinch hits or is it limited to the first one?
  21. No it's not. Brasier hasn't pitched since Saturday and that was his only appearance since last Wednesday. Needs the work.
  22. I've never seen it. I was betting on a sac fly, which would have meant that with 2 outs, the Sox would have had a 1.000 batting average that inning.
  23. I agree with moon. Swihart's ability to play other positions is invaluable in these days a 12 and 13 man pitching staffs. Now, one could be included as part of a larger deal, but otherwise, I think all 3 will be im Boston.
  24. That was dumb. Making Swihart hit from his weaker side (both this year and careerwise) was not.
  25. He's hitting like .140 from the right side, around .250 from the left. It was the correct move, especially with JBJ on deck. It didn't work, but it was the right move.
