Someone might pay more than min wage for Yoshida, but not by much, so yes, assume we pay 99% of his contract, if someone takes him. Duran might need some money added, too, but only if we want something of value back. I think someone will want him and give up a promising single A player or two- not much more, at this point. One plus is he is still just arb eligible, so any team can just walk away. If IKF gets healthy, he may bring something back of minimal value- same with Wong, Coulombe and T Guerrero. Gray is the one guy that may bring back a useful piece or two. My guess is, we will want someone who will be part of the 2017 and beyond plans. Chapman's 2027 control makes it hard for me to suggest we trade him, but I'd listen to offers. Contreras has 2 years remaining, so I'd listen but not settle on lower return values.

I think Brez gets another year. On good decisions vs bad, it's hard to grade non moves, and I think we both agree he gets a big "F" for not making another big bat addition (or two.) On his actual moves made, it doesn't look as bad to me, as it might to you and others, but yes, "too few" good ones. I said I agree with your position. I'm hoping we can do better with a higher pick that we've done with the last few times. Anyway, we are talking draft 2027 and then a few more years to see results. The MLB draft is not as certain as other drafts. I don't view it with much excitement. I thought we did pretty well the last few drafts, but it hasn't gotten us anywhere special... so far.

12th out of 15 in everyday players seems about right. 6th in pitching seems a little low, especially SP'ing, but Bello & Crochet really drove the numbers down.

When we traded Devers, I thought Harrison was the prize of the return, but they must not have liked what they saw of him while at AAA. They went and traded for May and Matz rather than call him up. Trading him may not have been more about "giving up on him" as the need and or like of getting Durbin and infield depth with Monasterio & Seigler, but clearly they didn't value him as highly as Dustin May. BTW, it's not like Kyle never got a look-see. He was called up in 2023 and started 7 games. He started 24 games in 2024 and saw less action in 2025 w SFG, too. They must have soured on something, too, even before they traded him. Maybe it was the fact that he just wasn't doing very well. He had a career 1.297 WHIP w SFG in 183 IP. BOS+SFG> MIL ERA: 4.39>2.50 ERA+: 91>167 FIP: 4.43>3.04 WHIP 1.315>1.056 BB/9: 3.1>2.3 K/9: 8.8>10.9

Well, if AAA hitters are batting that much as 3Bmen, then that is a reason 3B is in decline. More of one than Durbin.

The Cubs and Sox both had their chances to lock him up at a better rate than he ended up earning afterwards. He is a perfect batter for Fenway (and everywhere else.)

Agreed. Maybe several sample sizes should be given each time. Guys like Durbin have not been around long, so giving his 2025, career and most recent ___ PAs is probably enough.
