  1. Bennett has looked pretty good. The Perales trade is barely mentioned when talking Brez deals, but maybe this one sneaks in as a big plus. He only has 5 starts, so we need to keep that in mind. He has lasted 5+ IP each start. His second and third starts were not good: 10.1 IP 13 Hits 8 ER 3BB 5K His other 3 starts have been very good or better: 16.1 IP 12 Hits 3ER 2BB 17K Overall, he has only 5 BB in 26.2 IP (one was an IBB) 22Ks is not great but not bad either, and the 4.4 K:BB ratio is very nice.
  2. Remember the Luis Basabe brothers? Well, the DSL team has two Emanuel Jimenez pitchers- both with OPSA below .539. Jesus Lopez is at .480 Bats at DSL: 1.078 Santiago Yanes 1.026 W Bruce .973 G Martinez .968 J Ramirez .913 Dawvris Brito (#32) .898 Freyerso Vasquez .738 G Silverio (#29)
  3. While highest ranked FCL prospect, Dorian Soto, is batting just .607, there are plenty of bats to open our eyes: 1.296 Primera might pass Soto by the next rankings update. 1.250 Louis Andujar 1.022 Josue Brito .977 L Martin .939 E Darville .909 Jorge Rodriguez .861 J Peguero .801 C Alvarado .797 H Rivas #23 Hector Ramos is struggling at .570 #11 Sadbiel Delzine is living up to his ranking with a .428 OPSA in a team-leading 31 IP. Williams Montero is ranked and at .690. Merlin Bido is at .620, Berny Ortiz at .674 and Yomar de la Rosa at .471.
  4. Yes, he was at .501 on 5/20/25 and then .618 by 5/31/25! He's at .718 over the past 365 days. (.703 Career) Career: .707 v R and .693 v L .691 first half and .730 second half (smaller sample) ,588 April and .553 May .886 June .789 July, .740 August, .726 September .779 RISP (.720 w 2 outs) .749 Men on Base .813 Late & Close .771 High Leverage> .733 Medium & .647 Low Leverage .595 Fenway
  5. I love the smell of Yankee defeat in the morning.
  6. Thanks! I hope to catch a Sea Dogs game this July.
  7. First, our pen is not overused. We are 20th in RP IP, mainly due to our strong rotation. IP pads fWAR, but we are still 10th in fWAR at 2.6. We have the second best RP ERA- at an astounding 74. We are 5th in WHIP (0.01 from 4th and 0.03 from 2nd.) We are 7th in xFIP at 93 (01 from 5rg and -2 from 3rd) We are 7th in K%-BB% at 15%. (10th in K% and 3rd best BB%) Our LOB% is 2nd at 78%, so we've done well, there. It's hard to say the pen has killed us, but we do have 8 blown saves out of 24 chances. (Chapman is 15 of 16)
  8. Now that Cheng got the call, how about promoting Arias to AAA? I realize there is more to making that decision than an opening at the next level, but why not? Maybe promote Cespedes from GRE to POR< and see how he does against better pitching.
  9. Agreed, but the whole idea of making this a skillset is totally messed up.
  10. It might not matter, since the rest of our IF choices are not all that promising. His defense is plus, and while the .625 career OPS sucks, he's only had 364 PAs. I doubt we hand him a FT job, as he didnt get one this year, either, but we better move to improve the middle infield.
  11. Unreal that we are now +1 run diff. It sure doesnt feel that way. Only 4 AL teams are better. The A's and Astros are 7th and 8th by record and are -54 and -46!
  12. While true, our pen has about the same fWAR rank than our rotation. SP 9th RP 10th
  13. Durbin is up to .670, now. Even with a pretty large sample size, he's jumped from .557 on June 16th! 9 games and a 113 jump.
  14. Indeed- no Houck, Crawford, sandoval or Oviedo, either!
  15. Romero hit a homer in Woo's game, tonight. (They lost 13-1.) Holobetz pitched well for POR, who is losing 4-3 in the 9th. Bleis hit two bombs. Witherspoon pitch 6 nice innings as GE is down 6-4 in the 8th. R Hernandez and Anderson homered. SAL is on their way to another loss: 8-1.
  16. Sox have 3 pitchers in the top 16 in ERA (70+ IP.) (There are 4 ex Sox pitchers in the top 17: Sale, ERod, Harrison & Martin Perez)
  17. MLB ERA Leaders (70+ IP) as of 7pm tongiht: 1.47 Misiorowski 1.58 Ohtani 1.62 Schlitter 2.00 Chase Burns 2.13 C Sanchez 2.14 Sale 2.27 ERod 2.57 K Harrison 2.62 Rasmussen 2.65 Yamamoto 2.66 N Martizez 2.67 Messick 2.71 Wrobleski 2.75 Cease 2.78 Tolle #15 2.83 R Suarez #16 2.95 Gray #17 3.00 Martin Perez The Sox have 3 pitchers in the top 16! Ex-Sox pitchers number 3 in the top 8 and 4 in the top 17.
  18. I remember JBJ getting roasted alive for his long slumps and shorter white hot streaks.
  19. 8 non 1B infielders used, so far: 300+ Innings: Durbin, Mayer, Story. IKF 50-299: Monasterio, Sogard, Seigler, Eaton Now add Cheng 2B: 342 Mayer, 185 IKF, 73 Monasterio, 48 Sogard, 47 Seigler 3B: 592 Durbin, 46 IKF, 34 Sogard, 17 Monasterio, 6 Seigler SS: 340 Story, 179 Mayer, 83 Monasterio, 82 IKF, 11 Sogard
  20. I've been suggesting Duran trades almost since his call-up, but the point many made about or offense being is such poor shape, and trading away one of our top offensive players didn't make sense was a valid one, at the time. Nobody expected .624 in mid June.
  21. Everybody gets 3-4 years.
  22. No Judge might help, some. The Yanks line-up tonight feature no batter over .728 from the 4 to the 8 slots. Rosario at .759 is batting 2nd.
