  1. No, I've never mentioned Pom by name, but this isn't the first time he's failed to cover first. Yes, I call that "bonehead". Overall though, Pom's been a big plus this year.
  2. I've been defending Young all year. I'm done. No way he's on my playoff roster.
  3. All this with a team that's currently sitting on a 97-98 pythagorean Wins! (edited) Please STOP!
  4. Please Stop! You're scaring the bejezzus out of me!
  5. Remember when some were questioning Sale's attitude because of the cutting the uniform thing? I mean, we're talking.... Chris Freakin' Sale!
  6. Showing some "fire and desire"!
  7. Great news. Ease him in slowly. With Pedey looking shaky, Nunez could be a key force.
  8. I just said and think it is a concern. I would love to have him on the Sox, as long as we don't trade away a key piece like Beni, JBJ or Betts. I might give Bogey, but I think we might be able to get him for something less. I don't want to trade the world and pay a hefty contract. But, I view Stanton is something like the same light as Sale. These guys don't come along often. We're talking about... Giancarlo Freakin' Stanton!
  9. The Yanks are getting rid of a lot of salary this winter. The tax number is just $25M, so that may tip the balance to "yes".
  10. How many were boneheadedness? How many were just plain physical mistakes or misjudging a play while still focused?
  11. I don't care if anyone chooses to place any blame on JF for the lack of fundamentals, but we do clearly have a serious issue with fundamentals.
  12. He needs extra rest not short rest. We won't need him the last day of the year, so we should rest him 2-3 extra days, start him the last game vs TOR or the first game vs HOU and then rest him until OCT 5th- game 1.
  13. Anybody that was at 1B should have run to cover home, once Hamilton got to 2B. If he can't get to home before Hamilton, there's something wrong.
  14. I'd give him 2 extra day's rest before his next start and then rest him until October 5th.
  15. I really believe, he's not pitching the last game of the season, if we've clinched.
  16. It still seems weird that a top 3 defense by UZR/150 and DRS would allow almost double the unearned runs of the two teams ahead of them in runs allowed. One would normally expect a top defensive team to have a limited amount of unearned runs allowed. I realize errors are subjective, and it seems like we've made our share of mistakes not ruled as errors, but it's still surprising to me, that it seems like once we make an error, it bites us in the behind.
  17. Give him some time to recuperate.
  18. Too busy buying champagne.
  19. We'll probably end up placing 3rd in runs allowed, despite allowing 57 unearned runs- almost as much as the two teams ahead of us combined! CLE 35 LAD 34 Weird, since we are among the leaders in defense.
  20. Looks like we will end up placing 10th in runs scored. Not bad, when you consider we place 21st in OPS+ at 93. (League avg. 97)
  21. Yes. Teams that score 800 and let up 800 win less than teams that score 650 and let up 650. I researched it once, a long time ago.
  22. On 3 days rest? (Oct 1 to 5 gives him just 3 days rest.) No way.
  23. Stanton might look healthy, but there's no doubt he's had injury issues. Games player since 2012: 2012: 123 2013: 116 2014: 145 2015: 74 2016: 119 577 in 5 years = 115 per season Certainly health is a big concern on a contract of his length.
  24. Making Stanton our FT DH would probably lessen the injury risk issues.
  25. Maybe one good long rest with a few side sessions will actually be better for him. Who knows. My guess is they throw him 3-4 innings vs Toronto on an extra day's rest and then rest him until October 5th. (BTW, they haven't clinched yet, so do you throw him on normal day's rest so he's still lined up for the final game of the season, if needed? I don't.)
