  1. 1. A team's record in one run games will eventually regress to .500. That's just not true. If someone flips a coin head 50 times in a row, it does not mean that by 1,000 flips, they will be closer to 500 heads and 500 tails than had they flipped 25 heads and 25 tails over the first 50 flips. If a team starts out winning way more one-run games than the norm, chances are they will begin to win their norm for the remainder of the season- not make up for it by losing more one-run games than statistically probable. If a .500 team wins 10 more games by 0ne run at the halfway point of a season, they'd probably be projected to end the season with 10 more wins, as statistically, they'd be projected to go .500 in those games over the second half. 15-5 first half 10-10 second half 25-15 final numbers (not 20-20). Now, 25-15 is closer to their norm than 15-5, so in a way they are progressing towards the norm, but they should never really reach the actual norm after starting off with a massive anomaly. Seattle is still 31-16 in one-run games. They will not be at .500 in these games by season's end.
  2. Me too, but even if the injury is real, resting him gives us a better shot of him giving us more innings in October.
  3. "Sales." The Yankees also were not allowed to buy Vida Blue.
  4. I love ERod, but I'd bet on Sale.
  5. Thing is, Johnson seems to do way better as a 4 inning starter. I don't want to mess with ERod as RP'er. I start him game 4. Wright and Velazquez would be nice long inning guys out of the pen. Johnson might get shorted, even though he's been doing pretty well for the first 4-5 innings as a starter.
  6. We may need a 4th starter with a 2 games- day off- 2 games format.
  7. It should help, but our starters have been doing pretty well, and the ones who are doing the least well are fixtures in the rotation.
  8. High OB% and some power.
  9. I always thought Bogey was the perfect #2 hitter, but with Beni's sudden loss of power, and Bogey showing more power this year, I like Betts-Beni-Bogey-JD... (Moreland/Pearce).
  10. I know, but you chose the game where he got on base more than JD to complain.
  11. Adding ERod could really help.
  12. Shawaryn is not rule 5 until 2019, so we might wait. It would save us a 40 man roster spot for someone who will be rule 5. I'm not sure we'll have a big roster crunch this winter for rule 5's since we have quite a few FA leaving who will likely be replaced from within the system.
  13. On the farm... ERod 4 IP 8Ks (0ER, 1 H, 2 BB) Good sign.
  14. He did end up with less pitches thrown than Kluber, but I was wondering the same thing at the start of the 7th.
  15. Unless the batter is sure it will be a fastball. Sometimes it works in those cases.
  16. I'd try Bogey 3rd and Moreland 5th.
  17. We doubled the Guardians in Hits + BBs (16 to 8). We almost always win these types of games, unlike the Sox of many years ago. Get 'em tomorrow!
  18. Luck doesn't always run out.
  19. That was the pitch to hit.
  20. What a rocket shot by XB!
  21. Moreland OB 3 for 5. JD on base 2 for 5. JD has more power.
  22. Wish we'd have taken some of these balls, but it's walk-off time....
