  1. Nope. JD still gets a shot.
  2. Great AB by Beni
  3. Book it: walk it.
  4. Walk it off 6-5.
  5. Thornburg has shown signs of life, but his sample size is small. Opps have an .814 OPS against in the last 14 days (22 PAs). Workman has pitched well. despite being yo-yo'd between MLB & AAA.
  6. Yea, we'll hear that for sure... (maybe even from me)...
  7. It's hard to have much faith in any of our pen guys over recent weeks, except maybe Barnes & Brasier.
  8. I doubt anyone ever moans about giving up prospects for Sale.
  9. Isn't that one thing this site is all about? What ifs?
  10. How about Wright going through the 9 batters, then bring in Sale.
  11. I hope he does well.
  12. We won't lose game 1 and won't have any elimination games as we cruise through the playoffs.
  13. True, but by year's end he may be back as one.
  14. Hmmm, a "must win" that "doesn't really matter." Cleveland seems to be the team nobody is talking about, but they have quietly done very well this year. There are only 7 MLB teams with 54 or less losses. 6 are in the AL.
  15. Agree! I'm just glad we can give him rest, now. Let's hope it's what the doctor ordered, and it works.
  16. If he were more consistent, he'd be a closer. The vast majority of set-up men in MLB, including those getting hefty contracts as free agents, are as consistent as Kelly- or worse.
  17. He looked mighty strong after his last DL stint. I wonder, if he felt so good that he over threw a bit.
  18. You are choosing a sample size that fits your position, which is fine. 2.5 months is a pretty good sample size, however the point is, we will need a solid #2 RP'er next year that is much better than Kelly is now and maybe the same as Kelly prior to the 2.5 month line. If we don't replace Kimbrel, in kind, getting a solid set-up man or two takes on more urgency. BTW, one could argue replacing Kimbrel will be easy, since he has not been doing all that well for ___ weeks. .868 OPS against/ 5.40 ERA the last 28 days .870/ .523 second half
  19. I'm not sure that's enough.
  20. Exactly, and slight inflammation is common as well.
  21. What about non pitchers making 20X the manager?
  22. How do you propose to make amends?
  23. No Wright No Smith No Pedey No Vaz Sale and Devers to the DL.
  24. I don't think 2 games can be called a slump. Baseball is full of ups and downs. That's why they play 162.
  25. Earl knew his stuff.
