    Don't wanna jinx anything but DET just put up 8 on the Yanks in the 7th and lead 10-2. HOU is holding on vs TOR 3-1 in the 7th. CLE beat KCR and TEX is up, early.

    I'm not sure Story's arm is strong enough for 3B, but he'd be way better than Devers was. He'd also be Mayer's back-up at SS, so we'd still need a viable 3B back-up option and a 2Bman, not names Campbell, Grissom of DHam. I'm fine keeping DHam as depth, and moving Campbell to LF, which is made easier if we include an OF'er in the trade for Ryan.

    I'm looking at winning the division and being a top 2 seed for the first round bye. If that goal becomes too remote, I'll start looking at the next wish- home field in the WC series. Hopefully one of these wishes is alive to the end, or we clinch one earlier. If it comes down to making the playoffs or not, I'm not thinking about it. If we ever end up real close, that would suck.

    Having every Monday off doesn't mean you are locked into a 6 man rotation, but it seems the way it went.

    We may be able to pass them by going 2-1 vs both. A sweep or one and 2-1 vs the others gives us plus odds on passing one. I'm not getting ahead of myself. That won't be easy to do. We could go 1-5 vs the two. I wish they played each other before the final game but too bad they don't.

    Bad fielder? FA after 2025, this time. It's not like he has a mega contract. He's been a beast for several years. 49 HRs in '19 31, 31, 22 and 30 from "21-'24 45 this year

    I was all for landing a good SP'er at the deadline, and the need sure proved to be a high priority. I was hoping for Ryan or Keller, and Kelly would have been fine, but I understand and respect setting a price and not going over it. Tolle plus others for Ryan might have been too much, so I hesitate to bash a GM over deal details we don't know, and even if we did know, the results of he trade would be TBD.

    It's easy to dry coulda, shoulda, woulda on Gio by having the option triggered by 21`0 IP over two seasons and not 140 in 2025, but it is what it is. I'm not sure he comes back. Another one was letting Pivetta walk.

    His alternative might have been Kelly and others, but the asking price drove him to May.
