  1. Love the crooked number innings we've been getting. Keep it going!
  2. No need to "hope," except for no injuries. This is... Chris Freakin' Sale we're talking about!
  3. I'm a big DHern fan, but he needs to lower hid BB rate, or he'll be the next Henry Owens.
  4. One could say the same about the Yankees winning with all their subs playing so much.
  5. Very short memories.
  6. Certainly, the Rockets did not take advantage of the situation, and I'm not a Rockets fan, but I thought tehre were about 12 really bad calls against the Rockets with about half in the final quarter, and maybe 2 bad ones against GS. I still think the fix is in. People want to watch the Warriors, so the league makes sure they win. This happens too often for it to just be luck.
  7. Okay, best to middle might make 35-50 more plays over a year. Yes, I said TC's based on if both compared SSs had the exact same amount and type of hits to them. (hypothetical) If you disagree, how many more plays to you think the best SS makes vs the middle one?
  8. The NBA is one big fix. I swore I'd never watch it again after last year's GS-Houston fiasco. My Bucks have the best record, so I broke my promise. Refs currently handing the game to the Warriors...again.
  9. Other than being out with injuries, he's been pretty good for quite a while.
  10. For all you small sample sizers... Since May 5th: 0-15 Chavis (3BB) .167 OBP 2-16 JBJ (4BB) .300 OBP
  11. Betts is an elite athlete. JD looks like a deer in the headlights out in the OF. Plus, Fenway's RF is spacious. There are no nooks and crannies to mess you up or a big wall to crash into. We need JD 100% healthy. It's not a clear choice, and I'm not super scared of an injury, but I think the injury risk tips the balance slightly in Chavis in the OF's favor. JD already will play the OF enough due to games in NL parks.
  12. Time for some payback for what they did to us.
  13. JD is probably a slightly better OF defensively, but risking an injury tips the balance, for me.
  14. I was really hoping your Yanks would sign one of these bozos.
  15. I'd rather have Chavis in LF, Beni in CF and Betts staying put in RF. Just tell Chavis he will be DFA'd if he collides with the wall.
  16. I'm not sure anyone knows. I'm ready to give up hope and think this should probably be his last chance. I certainly don't want Chavis benched, so Pedey can play, but Pedey might only play no more than 50-60% of the time, so finding other ways to keep Chavis in the line-up should be possible. If Pedey plays 3 out of 7 games at 2B, Chavis can play 4 at 2B and 2-3 at 3B, 1B, DH or OF.
  17. Both sample sizes are under 90 IP, which is significant, but not really all that large. There are bigger catcher disparities with other pitchers. I've shown the starter ones often enough, here are some RP'er CERA numbers (career): Barnes: 3.58 w Vaz (.635 OPS against) 3.81 w Leon (.688) 4.50 w Swihart (.803) Brasier: 1.27 w Leon (.464 in 21 IP) 1.80 w Swihart in 10 IP 3.71 w Vaz (.712 in 17 IP) Workman: 3.46 w Vaz (.654 in 81 IP) 3.57 w Leon (.782 in 35) 4.03 w AJ P (.647 in 45) 5.oo w Salty (.728 in 18) 5.12 w Lava (.800 in 19) Joe Kelly: 2.81 w Y Molina (.721 in 176 IP as a starter) 3.23 w Vaz (.619 in 98) 4.31 w Leon (.785 in 56) 4.48 w Swihart (.698 in 74) 4.83 w Hanigan (.761 in 91 some as a starter) Kimbrel: 0.00 w DRoss (.242 in 41 IP--AMAZING!!!) 0.68 w Laird (.306 in 27) 1.82 w McCann (.500 in 158 IP) 1.94 w Leon (.499 in 79) 1.95 w Vaz (.495 in 88) (Almost identical numbers with all 3!) 2.01 w Norris (.581 in 45) 2.06 w Gattis (.552 in 48) 16.62 w Swihart (.813 in 4.1 IP)
  18. Truer words have never been spoken.
  19. I'm not sure what other options there are, other than picking up a DMac/Podsednik type cheapee. I don't like risking JD's health by playing him in the OF any more than just in NL parks or emergency situations. Moving Chavis to the OF, so Pedey gets another look may give JBJ the sit-down/phantom IL he may need very soon. I've not given up on JBJ, but a continuing .409 OPS is unacceptable.
  20. I'm JBJs biggest fan, but no great defense makes up for a .409 OPS. I'd give him a couple more weeks.
  21. I wasn't trying to say Hembree had a better playoffs, and that's why I showed the IP and the fact that Hembree walked 5 in 4.2 IP. My point was, it shouldn't be totally surprising that HH has had a very nice mini-stretch this year. He's had a few throughout his career, then it's back to mediocrity, or worse, just like Kelly.
  22. Last 2 weeks: 1.101 Betts 1.088 Chavis 1.039 Vaz .907 Devers .767 Nunez .716 Beni .716 Bogey .713 Moreland .708 Leon .649 JD .451 JBJ .291 Pearce
  23. 7 starters over .783 is pretty impressive. 6 over .803.
