  1. Holding the trash can was punishment enough.
  2. At least he's not on the 40 man roster... yet!
  3. The Astros investigation lasted months and months. How long has the Sox investigation gone on?
  4. Agreed. He's spoken nothing but truth.
  5. Depends how severe or provable our cheating was.
  6. Only if he retires, first and then we sign him as a manager/consultant for the same money spread out over 30 years. Lower the LUX TAX!
  7. I've avoided this thread until now. Suspend whoever you want for as long as you want, but please- no lost draft picks!
  8. We now have like 6 threads on this subject. Is Dick Williams still alive and dementia-free?
  9. Fire the best or second best manager we've ever had? NOPE! Pedey as a coach? Manager? Double NOPE! NOPE! VTek has never managed. NOPE!
  10. The Sox move up a slot in the draft! (maybe?)
  11. top 2 draft picks, too. Big penalty. Let's see where the appeal lands them.
  12. He went through a lot, but his numbers don't equal those on my short list. I'd be fine with him at 100%. I left of a lot of pitchers, too.
  13. Worried might not be the word I'd use, but I still think it's a high priority to re-set. My guess is they deal JBJ and wait until July to decide to have a fire sale, assuming we are 8+ down by then.
  14. We could trade JBJ and Price or Eovaldi and sign Puig. That would get us under.
  15. Gotta think the babe, Cobb, Gehrig, Musual, Mays and maybe others deserved 100%.
  16. Wow, that was stiff. 1st and 2nd round draft picks lost and the GM and manager suspended for a year. Waiting for the appeal and results of it.
  17. No, but he hit over .760 for a large percentage of each of last 3 seasons. He just really sucks for 22-46 games to start the year. I do think he could his .780-.820 again, but I'd bet he ends up near .710-.750 going forward.
  18. I'm saying I enjoyed watching him suck over Johnson sucking worse.
  19. It would get us under. Trading JBJ and signing Puig only takes a little off the Lux budget.
  20. I seriously doubt many hitters have the prolonged and horrid slumps JBJ has, and in the last 3 years- all have been to start the season. .800 hitters may slump for 3-5 weeks, but their slumps might be at .550-.700 not .409 to .537. BTW, JBJ was an .800+ hitter from 2015-2016 (.834 over all 230 games), but even then, he had some horrid slumps: 2015: .384 in first 21 games! (.962 last 53 games) .608 in first 27 games 2016: .586 first 16 games (.861 last 140 games)
  21. No, but the war on drugs was, and yes, not in a funny way. It focused on the wrong thing and criminalized a disease. Totally off-base.
  22. No, but second, yes- just because of PEDs.
  23. He actually does very well for most of each season. He just has horrible 3-5 week stretches that bring him down to about .720. 2017: .537 first 22 games .761 last 111 games (very respectable for 83% of season) 2018: .502 first 46 games .793 last 106 games (better than respectable for 70% of season) 2019: .409 first 31 games .828 last 115 games (Very good for 79% of season) Maybe this is why he has more value, but man-o-man, those few weeks kill us!
