  1. So, this might be the rotational depth chart? 1. Sale (60 day IL) 2. ERod 3. Eovaldi 4. Richards 5. Pivetta 6. Houck 7. Andriese 8. Whitlock 9. Seabold 10. Mata 11. Gossett, Hart, Kent, Reyez, German, Winckowski, Ward Possible openers: Brewer, Weber, Payamps, Gonsalves
  2. True, but he started walking again long before yesterday.
  3. No DH on the NL is second.
  4. Maybe, they asked JBJ, if he wanted to be traded to a contender, and he said no.
  5. Wonder what the best offer was.
  6. They were tough on him, at times, as well. Early on, the hype was very high.
  7. Maybe his mindset is influenced by the fact that we paid him $11M, last year when we didn't have to. Going from $11M/1 to $6M x 2 seems steep, but I agree, The market is what sets the price- not the player or agent. He's not going to sit out 2021, so what's the top offer, right now? If it's $6M/1 or $10M/2, I'd be on the fence. (I never expected it would come close to this, especially after seeing what Pillar got ($5M).
  8. Agreed. Maybe Mathers' statements will help force that much needed change.
  9. I'm surprised by this "turn."
  10. Yes, but might Andriese be more of an opener than a starter, if it comes to that?
  11. I've never been impressed with Chavis, but I do think he needs one more look. If he fails, this year, trade or DFA him and add Munoz to the 40 man roster.
  12. So, Whitlock will only be used in the pen? No chance of even being an "opener?" I agree, many are ahead of him, but will be on the 26 man roster, all year- unlike many others.
  13. Interesting. You think Whitlock may get some starts?
  14. Maybe 98%. Over 99.99% our non player's sons never sniff the bigs.
  15. Ottavino is a FA after this year, too. Marwin, as well. I'd look at the FAs after 2022 class and maybe trade someone who does not look to be part of the longer term (no interest in extending or who looks to be declining). FAs after 2022 JD Eovaldi Richards (2022 option) Vaz (2022 option) EHern Perez (2022 option) I'm not saying "firesale," but maybe just enough to get under the tax line and set the reset clock ahead another year.
  16. Chavis deserves one last look, but I agree.
  17. I think he was fired for the service time statements.
  18. I can agree with that. Weird how so many are just plain bad.
  19. I'm going by BTV, which may be totally useless, but I don't see anyone in the Mets system like Lee (similar value), but I realize Bloom may like a prospect with a value of 5 better than one with a 10. Maybe we get someone valued higher than Lee. BTV Mets prospect values: (I'm wonder why we didn't get 2 from NYM and 1 from KC.) NYM 18.4 Crow-Armstrong OF (We won't get him.) 15.8 Nientos 3B 11.2 Lee OF 5.9 Ginn P (see the big drop off?) 5.4 Ramirez OF Had we gotten 2 PTBNL from the Mets, maybe Ginn & Ramirez? Maybe we don't get a prospect, but get Lucchesi SP 7.0 or Peterson SP 9.9, but I doubt it. KCR (Beni 4.6 +2.8M cash- Cordero 3.5 = 3.9) 4.8 Melendez C 4.1 Bowlan P 3.2 Pratto 1B 2.6 Hernandez P, Marsh P 2.3 Fox SS 2.0 Candelario SS 1.8 Hicklen OF, Matias OF 1.7 Hernandez P Plenty of others at 1.6 and below
  20. I was going to say the same, and several have hit it bigger better than their papas did.
  21. I can see how fans like Remy as an announcer. I got tired of the same old-same old. He makes a few insightful comments, but not as much as I like and it seems to be rehashing the same insights over and over- not much new. It's all just fun and games and "pizza."
  22. If we are over the tax line at the deadline and have to decide to stay over or get under, they may decide to become buyers. I don't mean trading promising prospects for RP'ers, but they could get salary dump players for next to nothing. The extra 2021 tax would be slkight as their contracts would be pro-rated, and being over the line by $1M or $19M doesn't change the reset clock. My point is that if we look to be WC contenders but not ring contenders, I'd hope we'd become a seller not a buyer, but that would be hard for fans to swallow. Harder than not signing JBJ, now.
  23. I was thinking Sawamura got $3M x 2 not $3M/2. My bad.
  24. JBJ would likely just cost $3M more than Marwin on the 2021 tax line. Yes, I can see Munoz being better than Marwin, as well as Chavis and Arroyo. 2018-2020 .733 Munoz (555 PAs) .728 Chavis (540) .719 Arroyo (170) .713 Marwin (1214)
