  1. Our rotation has been upside down, the last 2 weeks: 2.20 Perez 2.81 Pivetta 3.75 Richards 4.41 Eovaldi 4.50 ERod Last 28 days 3.14 Richards 3.16 Pivetta 3.54 ERod 3.80 Perez 5.23 Eovaldi
  2. Better thaan Cordero, yes, as many others would have been, too. Renfroe has been as solid as Pillar. BTW, here are the OPS of some OF names mentioned, this past winter: .317 Billy Hamilton .407 Victor Reyes (.412 Cordero) .429 Adam Hasely .434 Dustin Fowler .522 Brett Gardner .536 Dexter Fowler .545 Jon Jay .558 JBJ .585 Amed Rosario & Hunter Dozier .589 K Kiermaier .590 Juan Lagares .610 Joc Pederson .610 Marcell Ozuna .631 Gregory Polanco (.633 Renfroe) .642 J Profar .645 E Rosario .669 Pillar
  3. Well, Pillar, Marisnick and others didn't have long term production success, either. Santana was supposed to be ready. He got a new injury. You keep ignoring this. Look, I'm on your side on this. Bloom should have signed an OF'er capable of playing FT OF, but none of the cheapest options had better track records than Renfroe- Cordero- yes. By stating Blooms reasoning, I'm not saying I agree with it, but he obviously thought Kike, Marwin & Santana were enough depth to carry us to Duran. 3 injuries put the kabosh on that. If just one injury did not take place, Cordero would be on the bench of at AAA, right now. That is kind of hard to predict.
  4. Or, some Max Mojo!
  5. Starters: Verdugo, Renfroe, Cordero Bench: Kike, Marwin AAA depth: Santana Again, I'm not saying this was fine or even good enough, but our 2 ML OF depth bench guys got hurt, and Marwin is needed at 2B. We should have signed Marisnick or some other near min wage OF'er- no doubt. We could have also given Chavis some reps in LF, this spring. We knew Duran was not ready, and Santana had a foot infection. It was a mistake.
  6. YES! I think with him, it's more about his defense, but at this point, anything is better than Cordero. My guess is we start with Santana and/or Wilson. I'd add both and DFA Brice & demote Cordero. When Arroyo and Kike come back, some choices need to be made.
  7. The money saved in the trade went towards signing Marwin +0.4 bWAR. and/or Sawamura +0.3 bWAR. How much value are Winckowski and 3 PTBNLs?
  8. Speaking of Santana, Wilson & Duran. Both Wilson & Duran homered, yesterday. Santana 1.164 in 3 games (1 HR in 10 ABs) Wilson 1.067 in 6 games (2 HRs in 28 ABs)) Duran .962 in 7 games (3 HRs in 28 ABs)
  9. He just needs to be in AAA working out his issues. In the long run, he may end up earning another chance, but as of now, he has no business being on our 26 man roster. If Santana isn't ready, call up Wilson or even Rosario as a defensive replacement- or better yet- both.. Scrap the 14th pitcher idea, at least until Kike or Arroyo return.
  10. Again, I'm not defending Blooms offseason OF neglect. I did like Kike as a CF'er, and many argued against that idea. He may not be great, but if he was healthy, Cordero is on the bench, right now. Same with Marwin. Same with Santana. It's hard for me to get to worked up over Bloom neglecting to fill a fourth string slot, but I do agree it was a mistake.
  11. It was never about his offense. It was about our weak OF defense and just having a late inning defensive replacement would have been nice. His offense has just been gracy. His OPS+ of 93 since that trash can year is not horrific, when you factor in his plus defense and contract cost. His OPS+ is 99 from 2019-2021. No trash cans.
  12. He would have been ready by now, but he got an infection in his foot. That was unforeseen. I'm not disagreeing with your position on the lack of ML ready OF depth. It's such an inexpensive position to fill. Marisnick signed for less than $200K over the minimum wage.
  13. I don't disagree. All winter I was screaming for a simple Marisnick signing. He's a good defender in CF and is hitting .967 since the start of 2020 and .761 from 2019-2021.
  14. I think the figured they had Kike, Marwin and eventually Duran. With Kike out, we lost one. With Arroyo out and Marwin (not Chavis) at 2B, we lose the second one. With Dalbec struggling, Chavis might be better used at 1B not 2B. BTW, Pillar got off to a slow start, but he's up to .669, now.
  15. Pitchers and batters, too.
  16. Some of our pen arms are putting up some decent numbers, recently. It's just that that the hits and homers they do let up are killing us. OPS Against last 14 days: .133 Barnes (BUTTAH!) .393 Taylor (Surprise, but can we trust him going forward?) .536 Valdez (Maybe we need to move him towards more high leverage) .571 DHern (Seems like he's been doing worse than this) .582 Ottavino (Same as DHern) .985 Whitlock (Shine wearing off?) 1.000 Sawamura (I still like this guy.) 1.165 Brice (Nuff said already.) 1.394 Andriese (Finally, someone doing worse than Brice) Last 7 days: .000 Barnes (6 PA) .476 Taylor 9 .536 Valdez 14 .667 Brice 10 .670 Ottavino 16 .688 Sawamura 16 .819 DHern 9 1.154 Whitlock 13 1.329 Andriese 17
  17. Cordero was supposed to be an Outfielder.
  18. Let's hope last night's outing by Eovaldi is a sign he's getting back in the groove. It's hard to imagine us competing without a healthy and productive Nathan. I'm not sure how much longer the surprise P & P twins will keep this up (Pivetta & Perez). Richards is looking more and more "for real," and he too, needs to stay healthy. ERod is ERod: just win, baby! Do whatever it takes.
  19. It's still early, and Cordero was just one part of the deal. The $2+M saved may come in handy at the deadline. Winckowski 3 PTBNLs Let's wait and see the final numbers on Beni. (I'm not sure I wanna wait on Franchy's final numbers, unless I'm looking at his AAA ones.)
  20. They probably want him to play 10-14 games before being called up.
  21. I almost added Soup. Tom Gordon, too. I think he went 30+ saves without a BS for a long stretch, one year.
  22. Not fun at all.
  23. Come on Devers- don't leave it up to Vaz.
