    I don't see that, but if you want to give up over us losing 2 of 3 to a couple very good teams, fine. The team has given reason to be skeptical, frustrated and even angry. I'm not saying my hopes haven't been lowered, but I lie our chances at making the playoffs. I'm not a "playoffs are a crapshoot" believer, so I don't expect us to go far, but I like the grit this team has shown, and having Sale. Schwarber and a healthy Houck might cause a surprise.

    After what has gone on, so far this season, why does anyone think teams will follow the pattern they've had over the last 2-3 weeks? Time and time again, every team, except the Rays have looked great and then turned on a dime to look awful- and vice versa.

    We just need to win a WC slot. We don't need to be WC1. A while ago, the Yanks were the winning team that nobody thought would hit a tough patch. I'm thinking the Jays are due for their rough patch, and these next few games might bring it about. Let's see. We can win 2 out of 3 vs everyone and still pass the Jays. We can lose one series and win the rest and might pass the Jays. Maybe not. I like our schedule vs anyone else, so I'm staying positive,

    I'm just not getting the fixation on Beni. It was a marginal trade designed to cut some budget, boost the farm and gamble that Cordero might bust out. As for being a captain going down with the ship- not hardly. I was the first to jump ship in 2019. I gave up very early out of a strong sense that team had no grit or energy. This team has shown moxy. I'm not sure what happens, but I'm not giving up on a team that never gives up. Sure, they have some massive flaws. I've railed against our D as much as anybody and more than almost everyone. We've fought back all year, so I think this team deserves our support to the very end.

    We've won 3 in a row and 4 in a row in the last 17 games, but no sweeps vs poor teams is an issue? We did sweep the O's in mid AUG, and then after the Yanks swept us, we've done this: 2-1 TEX 2-1 MIN 2-1 @CLE 2-2 @TBR 2-1 CLE 1-2 TBR 1-2 @CWS Yes, it sucks having to hope the Jays lose, but if they win, we can gain on the Yanks. I will say, winning 2 of 3 from SEA would be huge but not easy.

    I did not say trade Richards. I think we pay $10M to keep him rather than $1.5M to let him go on the buyout. Close calls, as are a few other items listed, here.

    I'm hoping we improve the D, but I think it gets put off a year. Maybe we trade Bogey, but I seriously doubt it.

    It doesn't matter how much the Twinkies are up vs the Yanks. They will always find a way to hand the game away.

    There is a difference between what I want us to do and what I think Bloom will do. Here is what I think Bloom will do: Sign Scherzer to $90M/3 with a 4th year option at $26M and a $6M buyout. (Essentially: $96M/3 or $116M/4) Sign Schwarber to $75M/5. Sign Ottavino $17M/2. Trade prospects for a solid RPer. QO given and accepted by ERod. JD does NOT opt out. Take options on Richards and Vaz. No options on Perez. 2022 Red Sox Scherzer Sale Eovaldi ERod Pivetta Seabold Houck Whitlock Barnes Ottavino __ Trade__ Richards DHern Taylor Sawamura 1.     I think he'll sign Scherzer, Verlander or Greinke to 3 or less years.

    I don't see the Rays signing anyone on this list, except maybe Rich Hill, again, but only if his price falls. Then, they'll trade him again. It's easier said than done of copying how the Jays do it. If we follow their model, we'll trade Bogey for some pitching prospects-one of which will be a Cy Young candidate, soon.

    Next year the ALE plays the NLC and the ALW plays the NLE. Should be a more balanced schedule between the ALE and ALW.
