  1. Then what explains the wildly low ERA the third time through? Add the second and third together and it’s not all that bad. Also, look at IR allowed to score and OPS against numbers.
  2. I was big on the Sox going after Taillon, but I guess Bloom didn’t like him as much or wanted to keep the farm pieces.
  3. We're facing a lefty and have Perez on the mound. I'm hoping for more timely hits and continued power showings, tonight. Keep the mojo risin'.
  4. Here is an interesting look at weak hitting in 2021: Out of 429 batters with 80+ PAs, this year... 183 have a .700 or lower OPS (43%) 120 have a .650 or lower OPS (28%) 65 have a .600 or lower OPS (15%) 31 are below .550 (7%) Here are the numbers for 2019: 436 batters with 120+ PAs 132 below .700 (30%) 73 below .650 (17%) 30 below .600 (7%) 17 below .550 (4%)
  5. Updated Sox OPS Leaders - only 1 over .900 - Kike firmly ranked #4 .927 Devers .910 Schwarber (with WSH- .828 career) .898 Bogey .889 JD .806 Kike .792 Arroyo .778 Renfroe .750 Verdugo .721 Plawecki .650 Dalbec .650 Vazquez .573 Marwin .568 Duran .554 Santana .527 Cordero
  6. April 2022 or the WS, this October.
  7. Nice win. Keep the mojo risin’.
  8. Great points. He still needs a larger sample size to lock up a rotation slot for 2022. (Note: I am confident he will.)
  9. Yanks score 5 in 8th. Up 8-3, now.
  10. The Rays scored 4 runs, tonight on 1 single, 2 doubles,1 triple and 1 HR. 5 hits total
  11. None. 2020 1.098 in 6 slot .907 in 7 slot .805 in 1 slot Career .960 in 7 slot (2nd most career PAs) .849 in 9 .763 in 5 .760 in 1 .751 in 6 .750 in 2 (most career PAs in 2 slot) .750 in 8
  12. The 7 slot is far and away his best slot, if you believe in those things.
  13. I'm super psyched he's back with the big club, but you know, Pivetta has "excellent stuff," too. I'm not saying that to comp him to Pivetta but to just throw some caution to the discussion.
  14. What puzzles me about Houck, and I'm not saying I'm not high on him, is how he never really impressed through the minors, and his ML sample size is rather small.
  15. Not enough roster slots to have 3 guys pitch 2 innings every 5 days.
  16. .781 career OPS .760 OPS in the 1 slot. If he starts hitting again, fine, but prove it first.
  17. ERod has to do better than 99 pitches in 5 innings. That was the "old ERod" we thought had gotten past that, but I'll take it. Sale, Eovaldi, ERod, Houck and one of the struggling 3 to step it up, and we're back in business.
  18. Verdugo leading off is scary, right now. It's my hope Duran can win the lead off role by next year. That would set the rest of the line-up up nicely.
  19. Here on out. Book it (Minus the 2 walks in an inning.)
  20. Big inning for ERod. Don't take your give 'em an inch.
